The military depends on a constant flow of volunteers every year to meet its requirements, and as the number of eligible Americans declines, it will be increasingly difficult to meet the needs. This is not a distant problem to address decades from now. The U.S. military is already having a hard time attracting enough qualified volunteers. Health Issues
According to the former commander of the U.S. Army Recruiting Command,Major General Allen Batschelet, the biggest culprit keeping young adults from qualifying to serve in the United States military however is health concerns, mostly obesity.[32]
In 2015, he stated: “The obesity issue is the most troubling because the trend is going in the wrong direction…. By 2020 it could be as high as 50%, which means only 2 in 10 would qualify to join the Army.”[33]..
The Mission: Readiness report previously cited reports that “27% of young Americans are too overweight for military service,” and of the total number of those who attempt to join the Armed Forces, approximately 15,000 are rejected every year because they are overweight. [35]
Another 32 percent of the young adult population cannot join the military for health concerns other than obesity. These issues include asthma, hearing and eyesight problems, and mental illness.[38]

Those of us more seasoned that others would of course never be considered or would be considered for military service, but to be blunt, our side may need some inside sources down the road; now and long after we’re gone.

I remember a a great engineering professor. He dropped out of high school and joined military. They straighten him up and made a PhD professor out of him eventually.
Long time ago - he was one of the greatest professors, I have ever had. Nowadays, they would not taken him in, and he would be probably doing some menial job somewhere.
The military stayed with him though. He was kind of drill sergeant, pretty strict, tattooed and chain smoking.
The snowflakes now would not like him.

As a soccer coach I coached a large group of boys as they grew up from 8 to 14 years of age. At around age 10 I noticed one of the boys lose his aggression and drive to score. I asked his Mom if something was going on with him because it was like a light switch turned off. Adderall.
I saw the exact same thing happen to four other boys over the next few years. Normal, happy, boys being chemically castrated right before my eyes and literally nothing I could do about it.
I didn’t even have to ask. In those cases where the Mom let me know, it was always instigated by a teacher at the school.
Easier than that. If you self identify as a woman, you only have the meet the lower standards.
My son has four friends who joined up, all four have separated after doing their tours. A couple have talked about how their CO tried to trick them into re-signing up.
All of them regular red-blooded males. Three out of 4 white.
