Is time to be talking about a replacement for Rush?
I would love to see Mark Steyn take the job, but I don’t think he would want to make the commitment as he has so many other things going on.

I know he isn’t really interested in radio, but I find Steven Crowder the closest to Rush in humor and wit. He’s not nearly as subtle with it as Rush though.

No one can replace Rush. They might take his place but they’ll no more replace him than Creepy Joe Biden replaced President Trump.
Not sure why, I don't particularly care for Todd.
Steyn would be my first choice of those I know.

I’m fine with Hermann. Can’t stand to listen to Steyn. Not a big fan of the accent from whatever region of the UK he’s from. They pronounce their Rs like a three year old.
I heard that plans are for 90 days of previous clips from Rush’s shows over the years with guest hosts sort of bridging the gaps. Rush’s staff have been archiving/putting the clips together, knowing what was coming in the near future. After 90 days, the feeling is that Rush fans will “be ready” for someone else, at least as ‘ready’ as they’ll ever be. I also heard that Steyn has already said “no” to taking the slot for the irreplaceable Rush.

Hannity- “Interruptus Maximus” With the truth, facts, and logical argument on his side, Alan Colmes still mopped the floor with him daily. Shawn spouts his script. Lost without it.
That and Hannity is a first class jerk.
Steyn has too many “irons in the fire” with his writing and speaking engagements but your idea of continuing with rotating hosts, including Steyn, is excellent.
We’re assuming that talk radio is going to continue in the future as it has since, well, Rush invented the model in the late 1980s.
He was the GOAT, but the model is unlikely to last much longer. The present, much less the future of communication is found in social media, and some conservative version of Marciplier is more likely to reach the Millennials and post-Mils than talk radio.
P. S. I have a devout Catholic college student friend, and I recently asked her if she was listening to Relevant Radio. Her response was to ask who listened to radio anymore. Rush was the greatest, and technology is such that no one will ever succeed him.
There IS no one that will replace him...That said, I could enjoy listening to Mark Steyn and hope he gets his own regular program.
Age wise Howie is a year or two younger than Rush; seems to be in good health. He is syndicated on 25 or so stations in the northeast. The Howie Carr Radio Network
also does the Grace Curley Show at noon on
WRKO Boston and a couple other stations. Howie is on WRKO Boston, too.
WRKO is owned by iHeart; sister station WXKS runs Rush and Hannity. Howie has ownership of his show (and btw also does his show frequently from his own Southern Command in Fla.). If he were chosen he could move to noon and offer the Curley show at 3.
That’s a good thought. I’ve heard him speak several times and he is excellent.But when thinking about the price he’d have to pay he may not be willing to do it.
I would agree. When anyone subbed for Rush, I could never tell if it was a matter of no one being able to compare to him, or if Rush just deliberately asked second stringers to do the show.
