And some just think it’s “fashionable” because he and Trump went a round or two during the campaign and they haven’t gotten over it. I remember when this was a “Cruz site”. Jim Robinson supported Cruz at one point but now it’s out of vogue.
If I ran FR, I would just delete any Freeper accounts that consistently criticized Ted Cruz. These never-Cruzers are tiresome and unhelpful.
If you hate Cruz, why? Why such animosity toward someone who has been a friend to the right? Why such consistent vitriol? If you label him a “Cruznadian,” why such pathetic dismissal? Do you prefer the fake Mexican Beto?
Do you live in an area that has natural disasters that last for weeks? Those of us from the Gulf Coast know when a storm is a coming you get out of the way for greener pastures. Same with blizzards in the panhandle of Texas when a blue norther is coming you get your butt South faster than the storm is coming we leave Midland or Lubbock and go to South Padre for some fishing and beers when the norther blows.
I say good for Ted , he got my vote last time and will again along with a healthy campaign contribution yet again. He is a Federal rep. He has ZERO role or authority to do anything at the state level. Which is where this problem exists. Now if Abbot had gone to Mexico then yes that would be a scandal but Abbot is here and front n center demanding the forced winterization of the power, and gas grid. It will cost billions to do so and he is also demanding the legislature fund that as is the correct process the house funds the executive approves said funding.
As a Texan I find the melodrama surrounding Cruz unimpressive.
I’ve suffered without electricity for two days and I don’t blame Cruz for this or hate him for going to Cancun.
His critics are moral pretenders. They are not trying to help me or my family here in Texas.
He’s a conservative so he will be attacked.
Don’t fall in with the left wing media arm of the democrat party.

1. Getting your wife and kids out of a potentially-life-threatening situation; or
2. Not getting your wife and kids out of said situation because the MSM, Democrats, liberals, and lefties will scream bloody murder, thereby affecting your reelection chances next time around.
He chose the former - he should never, ever apologize to the cancel culture for that.

My friend, I have been through more natural disasters in my life than you will ever know.
Getting them out of the way is one thing. Taking them to a Mexican Resort is another thing altogether. Taking them to a hotel in an adjacent state where they can stay warm is understandable.
The optics of going down to a 5-Star Resort in Cancun was just plain tone-deaf, brain-dead stupid.
Trump came down the escalator, and spoke to us in a way that few politicians had ever done in our lifetimes.
I suspect that Conservative, common-sense Americans are done with ‘politicians’.
Cruz can possibly redeem himself; but he’ll have to drop the ‘politician’ aspect, and begin to speak from his heart, not from his ego and aspirations.

A lot of people don’t like Cruz, because he has often come across as an egotist.
All I wrote was that he needs to drop the ‘politician’ in him, and begin to present himself as a Human Being’- as Trump has always done.

It wasn’t 30 degrees in his stupid house. Even with below zero temps my sons house without power for 12 hours was 56.
And, Heidi tells her neighbors they have a gas stove. Which means they probably have gas fireplaces. Heidi & the kids were bored and wanted a vaycay. Simple as that.
