I recently came across this clip from the Clinton Years of Rush calling out said President's crocodile tears during the Ron Brown memorial service which did bring a much needed smile to my face.
Now that we're looking back on his life, I thought would be a good time to ask people here for their favourite Rush moments that hold dear to them. Whether he made you laugh or stoked passion in you
One in particular was the feminist update theme with the one “Feminazi” screaming, “We’re fierce. We’re feminists and we’re in your face.”

In a Yugo - great stuff!
So funny!!
Barack the magic negro
My favorite memory was when Rush talked about the welfare state and how it deprived people....took away their drive to succeed and feel a sense of accomplishment. I’m not doing it justice here, but it resonated with me that there is no feeling in the world like accomplishing something or doing something difficult and making it to the other side.....to take away that opportunity by telling someone they are victims and can’t do it....or just giving them welfare....is not compassionate.
I believe there should be a safety net....not a hammock!
As Ben Franklin said “The best way to help the poor is to make them uncomfortable in their own poverty “
This thread is therapeutic. So many memories.
Listening to Rush’s last broadcast only about 2 weeks ago, it is amazing to me how lucid, intelligence, on point, thinking, energetic he was....how can someone go from that to death in 2 weeks???
I thought to myself, you can't say that about jesse….the guy will get killed.
Had no idea who Rush was at the time but I was hooked from that point.
Wife and I would always listen to him going to the beach. Nothing like the EIB network on the shores of the beach.
One principle I learned from Rush....illustrate the absurd with the absurd.
And yes...I got a little misty eyed yesterday and today.
How many of us will be tuning in today at noon? It might be his highest rated show ever.
Thank you. Hilarious. Missing Rush.
Rush was explaining how a person comes to work and does the job right - even when not feeling up to it. It's what professionals do he said... The professional puts aside personal problems and gets the job done.
It felt like he was giving us a way to deal with the realities of life. The reality of sickness, pain, disappointment and death: you show up - you do the job. He didn't mean it to be sad but I was struck by his resolve in the face of death. He would meet his obligation to all of us... and let us know we need to do the same in our lives with our obligations.
😥 I know exactly how you feel.
I remember that! I was visiting my dad in Virginia and he had Rush on. Rush kept saying “Women have GOT to stop farding in their cars!” My Dad wondered what Rush was going on about.
I looked up “fard” in the dictionary (because that’s how we did it back then) and found out that it meant to apply make-up. Rush was having fun with that one. LOL
