Biden urges Congress to pass 'commonsense' gun law reforms on 3rd anniversary of Parkland shooting
On the third anniversary of the Parkland school shooting, President Biden called upon Congress to "enact commonsense gun law reforms."
In a Sunday statement, Biden recalled the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, which killed 17 people, including 14 students.
"For three years now, the Parkland families have spent birthdays and holidays without their loved ones," he said. "They’ve missed out on the experience of sending their children off to college or seeing them on their first job after high school. Like far too many families, they’ve had to bury pieces of their soul deep within the Earth. Like far too many families — and, indeed, like our nation — they’ve been left to wonder whether things would ever be okay."
Nikolas Cruz, the suspected lone gunman in the shooting, has pleaded guilty in hopes of avoiding the death penalty, and his trial has been indefinitely delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Since the shooting, several Parkland students have become activists. Biden appeared to reference them in his statement.
"Over these three years, the Parkland families have taught all of us something profound. Time and again, they have showed us how we can turn our grief into purpose — to march, organize, and build a strong, inclusive, and durable movement for change," he said.
The president added that his administration "will not wait" for another mass shooting to happen before taking action.

Well, write this down, because Joe just incited the next shooting.
*The strategy they campaigned on was to make semi-automatic firearms and "large capacity" magazines subject to NFA restrictions. $200 tax stamp for each gun and each magazine, along with registration.
There's going to be a fight, and they won't get all of this, but they'll get some or most.
When I hear “common sense” gun laws, I’m thinking national reciprocity....
They didn’t need guns. They were protected by restorative justice.
The father of one of the girls who died in the shooting sued the armed guard at the school and the school for failing to shoot the crazed shooter and protect his daughter. Dad was right was right, but he lost the suit.
Anti-gun reform = White Supremacist Terrorist
Every despotic measure proposed by a tin horn dictator is always considered by some to be “Common Sense”.
Yes I remember that, and it was also Obamas program of going easy on minority school kids when it came to felonies. I forget the name of the program thanks to the media which completely buried it, but the whole idea was to not mess up a minority kids future with a criminal record. So this shooter Nikolas Cruz was making threats for months and they did nothing as per the “Cruz” surname and Obamas program. The kid even wrote down in words that he wanted to be a mass shooter and even the FBI knew about him and did NOTHING. But the gun is the problem, right? Clear cut evidence of the left protecting potential threats and it’s buried.
FBI Visits Home of Black Republican Political Candidate for Being in D.C. on January 6
1 1/2 million service members in the military
700 thousand policemen
400,000 National Guard
Vs.
15-20 million A-s-s-s-ault rifle owners with at least two to ten or more large capacity magazines each,
Over 75 million other firearm owners.
How is THAT going to work out for the Confiscators? And you know confiscation is the real reason for gun registration.
And here is how they plan to do it! From 1976...They now are after rifles, something they said they would NEVER do.
From 1976.

“I’m convinced that we have to have federal legislation to build on. We’re going to have to take one step at a time, and the first step is necessarily — given the political realities — going to be very modest.
Of course, it’s true that politicians will then go home and say, ‘This is a great law. The problem is solved.’ And it’s also true that such statements will tend to defuse the gun-control issue for a time.
So then we’ll have to strengthen that law, and then again to strengthen that law, and maybe again and again. Right now, though, we’d be satisfied not with half a loaf but with a slice. Our ultimate goal — total control of handguns in the United States — is going to take time.
My estimate is from seven to ten years. The problem is to slow down the increasing number of handguns sold in this country. The second problem is to get them all registered. And the final problem is to make the possession of all handguns and all handgun ammunition — except for the military, policemen, licensed security guards, licensed sporting clubs, and licensed gun collectors — TOTALLY ILLEGAL.”

“Yes, I’m for an outright ban [on handguns].”

HCI, around 1984, suddenly made a grab for the semi-auto rifles and shotguns, and missed But they showed their hand. As a result all gun owners know we are always up against a stacked deck.
*******
And HERE IS how they will do it, one small step at a time.
And to think, in 1962 Thomas J Dodd and Emauell Cellar proposed the first federal law on common firearms.
1962; “We don’t want to take away your guns, we ONLY want to register handguns! Rifles and shotguns will not be affected”.
1964: “We only want to register all your guns, not ban them! Only Army surplus guns will be banned.”
1968: “We only want to register your guns, and ban “Saturday Night Specials” and small foreign handguns along with army surplus rifles!” (They got the ban on 5 shot army surplus rifles and handguns and small foreign pistols)
1970: “We only want to ban Saturday night specials! Large handguns and rifles will not be affected!”
1976: “We only want to ban all handguns! Long guns will not be affected!”
1981: “The NRA is a rifle organization! They should give up their handguns, and they can keep their rifles!”- Lee Grant on GMA
1984: “We must ban “assault Rifles, unsuitable or hunting!”
1989: George Bush bans import of some foreign made “assault rifles”.
1992: Assault rifle ban passed by Clinton.
2000: first calls to ban single shot .50 cal rifles...
2012 calls for MORE bans on semi auto rifles and handguns. If you can’t ban them then go after ammo limits, the magazines and styles of the stocks.
And so it continues.
When his Secret Service carry BB Guns, then we can talk.
Just Say No
**$200 tax stamp for each gun and each magazine, along with registration. ***
The government has done this for machine guns and sawed off rifles since 1934. But I have read that if you die you cannot pass along your registered machine gun to your kin. It is confiscated.
Same will happen for your now registered rifles.
That’s why the commies went with this bogus impeachment nonsense, so people would NOT be paying attention to the garbage Biden and his cronies were about to enact
The enemy has wised up. They’re not going to go door to door and try to confiscate people’s guns. They’ll just past an administrative requirement that millions will ignore, but which will create an impossible liability for each individual gun owner.
They’re not going to take us on all at once, they’re going to nibble away, and defeat us in detail.
I suspect what they are really after is the 2005 protection of lawful commerce in arms act. If that could be removed, they will be able to achieve all of their ends....once store, one gun manufacturer, one ammo factory at a time.
Elections have consequences.
Commonsense gun laws are already in existence. All this nutjob has to do is go read our Constutution.
TC is another problem. For example a character was shot in the arm and leg by a high powered rifle. The next week he is back on duty. Kids see that and think it is true
