Just watched his portrayal of J. Paul Getty a few weeks back.
He was thrown into the role AFTER the film had been completed, because Kevin Spacey, who had been cast as Getty, had been accused of sexual misconduct and so they decided to cut him out and reshoot with Plummer. He was excellent.............

Commodus in FALL OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE(1964).
Wellington in WATERLOO(1970).
Dang it. Rest In Peace.
The last two pictures I saw Christopher Plummer in was "The Exception" from 2016. He played Kaiser Wilhelm II in that one. The second one was from 2015, called "Remember." That movie was excellent. Martin Landau was in it as well. I highly recommend it. There is a twist at the end. The synopsis from IMDb is:
"With the aid of a fellow Auschwitz survivor and a hand-written letter, an elderly man with dementia goes in search of the person he believes to be responsible for the death of his family in the death camp to kill him himself."
I would love to age like he did kicking the bucket with his full mental capabilities.
Me too. I was just thinking of him a few days ago. We had the same birthday.
Now he can replace Kevin Spacey’s dead career.
My wife recently started singing Edelweiss to our son before bed. I know Plummer was dubbed over and that he hated that role, but to have leave such an impression over so many decades in so many different films is quite a legacy.
Mr. Plummer actually lived longer than some of actors who played Captain's kids in that film...For example, Heather Menzies died in 2017...She played Louisa...Charmian Carr died in 2016...She played Liesl...
In any case, RIP to Mr. Plummer...
He was also in movie NATIONAL TREASURE...With Jon Voight and Nicholas Cage...
I always liked Plummer and von Sydow. The older they got, the better they were. I'm in my 70's, so I enjoy watching actors that have a long history. All most of the actors have to do today is stand in the middle of a green screen, and interact with a CGI character that's added later. That's not acting.
Very sad... RIP...
I always liked “Edelweiss” until it became a creepy version of itself in “The Man in the High Castle”.
If only hew hadn’t fallen in love with someone as obnoxious as Tammy Grimes, and the daughter they produced - Amanda, with the same insufferable traits, and pretentious acting - be the only legacy he left.
