Two words:

Lone Star

Enough to make wish for Old Milwaukee!

Heavily-hopped IPAs are the fad, and have been for five or ten years. You go to the beer section of any large store and they will have literally dozens of IPAs, probably 70% of their total stock. I don’t get it.

I had a white ale brewed by Baltica out of St. Petersburg, Russia that was actually tasty.

The goal of beer is to get a buzz. That’s it. Anyone claiming to say it’s for the taste is a bullsh*tter..

Whoa.

I've made that argument my entire life and I've finally found someone that agrees.

YOU are the man!

My dad was a Hamm’s and Schlitz drinker. I know Hamm’s is gone, but is Schlitz still around?

Ever tried Eders (Aschaffenburg) or Darmstadter (Darmstadt) German beers? Best Pilsners I ever had. The taste is first with those two.

Back in the days of 3.2 beer, nothing was good.

Went back to Seattle after being away for years. Bought a six pack of Rainer and found it swill. Was the beer of choice for years when I was younger.

I visited their brewery way back in 1973. Very quaint place to visit.

When I worked for Lucky Stores back in the 1970s Olympia, Coors, and Bud were the best sellers.

Olympia was a great beer when made with Tumwater. When it sold out, the can no longer carried the Tumwater statement. I believe it was then brewed in the mid America area.

Years ago,1975, at THE COPPER PENNY in Farmington NM, we ordered COORS in a bottle. It was so bitter BAD I quit trying to drink it. I had to order two Olympias to get the Coors taste out of my mouth.

Huh?
Just bought a 6-pack of Oly Talls a couple weeks ago for making stew. Cheapest on the shelf and tastes fine once you’ve added beef and cooked the alcohell out of it.

We would buy it when funds were low. It was never long before somebody would pop a top, stand proudly with one fist on their hip, raise their can and shout, "OOOOOLympiAAAAAAHHH...."

That was my go-to beer when I was a kid. Very popular in Alaska at the time.

I also DJ’d for a strip club in my senior year at college for cash.

I literally witnessed the kitchen staff “switch” orders for Bud to Natural Light (lol), and not one customer knew or complained. I guess seeing naked women around a pole dulls your taste buds (s/)

Heilemann’s Old Style Lager Beer, brewed in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

They had a catchy little jingle back in the 1950’s.

***Back in the days of 3.2 beer, nothing was good.***

My dad could get puking drunk on 3 cans of 3.2 Oklahoma beers. Didn’t bother me at all.

Old Style was popular during my beer soaked days in Portland (OR) back in the 80’s but I’ve always been an Oly fan. I haven’t had an Oly in decades. Nobody sells it here. Hamms neither. All they got nowadays is that faggy “craft beer” that the millennials swill.

Used to, you could get Pabst dark beer in kegs and at the friendly neighborhood tap room - I loved that stuff
