Found her(hound mix) in a rescue shelter 12 years ago. She was appx. 2 years old by the vet when we got her. So she is appx. 14 years old.
Sorry to hear, Friend. I have been through it several times. It hurts worse than anything.
So very sorry to hear. Out animals are family, and it hurts like hell to lose them.
Always remember that the Rainbow Bridge is a very real place, and that you WILL see your friend again.
Last October the vet gave my 13 year old beagle not much hope. . .He gave me the option of putting him down or some pills. Said he would only go outside and then back in with not much of a life. I chose the pills. Well, the pills he threw up and then wouldn’t eat for 3 days. The pills except for the water pill landed in the sink so I ditched them. I give him silver biotics liquid in his water and also gel on his food as I do for the cats and other dog, And put the water pill in a piece of sausage or hot dog. Also his one eyeball looked strange. . .squirted some silver biotics on it. The eye is clear now. Earlier in his life he had an encounter over a female dog and ended up with tubes coming out of his body and stitches everywhere. They gave me medicine to put on his wounds and medicine to put down the tubes. I decided to put the silver gel all over his body, . .and the silver biotics liquid down the tubes. No scars. He was just outside today hunting for something. God decided I needed him for a while.

I lost my best friend at age 14.
She went with me everywhere and would literally follow me around like a lost puppy dog...everywhere I went.
She started having seizures and couldn’t stop.
Some say it was caused by the poison in dog food imported from China.
Both the wife and I were heartbroken for having to put her down, but she was suffering so badly.
We couldn’t stand to see her suffer any longer.
Sorry to hear. It’s sohard to lose them.

Get that leftist crap outa here. Shelters are importing animals along with rescue groups.
Animal “rights” groups HATE dogs and constantly push this crap.
Will she drink water? Also my collie lasted over 2 years after I started her on a tuna diet. There is anti toxin’s I guess in Tuna. Worth a try.

Pain. What about the pain, the pleading look.
When they look at you, they are thinking of great love for you and asking why you let them suffer when you are now the protector. They ask; “Why aren’t you doing something to help me. I am ready to go.” (They always let us know when it’s time.)

The Little Ship
I stood watching as the little ship sailed out to sea. The setting sun tinted her white sails with a golden light, and as she disappeared from sight a voice at my side whispered, “She is gone”.
But the sea was a narrow one. On the farther shore a little band of friends had gathered to watch and wait in happy expectation. Suddenly they caught sight of the tiny sail and, at the very moment when my companion had whispered, “She is gone” a glad shout went up in joyous welcome, “Here She comes!”
Sympathies. Pray for a fix by vet. Terribly gut wrenching...I speak from very sorry grief stricken experience. Godspeed.
Do NOT apologize , this is an extremely hard time for you . Comfort your dog with your presence and voice . I know exactly how what your going through. Talk to God and ask for some comfort for you both. Focus on the great life you two got to share....

I know how that is. I still miss my Freyja. Dachshund lived to be 19. She was our 4-legged short Valkyrie. She kept the backyard clear of squirrels, chipmunks and even chased a fox out of the yard. Trotted back to me like it’s ‘all in a days work !’ Fearless for her size but sweet with the family & kids. Good with other dogs. Her favorite game with the kids was “chase”. She chases them then they chase her. She knew she was a warrior maiden you could see it how she carried herself. She went blind her kidney’s failed, sad sad day.
I have two young dachshunds now both male. They’re not so much warriors but more vaudeville comedians. Dogs are wonderful !
Don’t be sorry. All of us have been there. Our beloved Border Collie had to be euthanized a week before Christmas. She was the 5th one thru the years for me and I still miss each one terribly. I tend to agree with Mr. Rogers:
“If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went.” —Will Rogers
Went through that in 2004 and could not bring myself to get another dog since...
Always have a bunch of great dogs in the children’s & grandchildren’s families to mess with...
