They get involved by trying to take over shelters where they try to increase the euthanasia rates. They make it difficult to adopt in rural areas by making farm placements almost impossible. They change the shelter rules so that reclaiming a lost dog is met with threats.
The little dog in your second set of photos is the most in demand. Every shelter has a waiting list of adopters for little dogs and puppies. These wackos know this and use shelters (they have control of ) to traffic in dogs. With the lack of dogs, importing them has become big.
Of course they have a public with virtue signaling patsies for clients willing to pay for dogs with no questions asked about where they come from .
And YOUR sure-fire solution for all these abuses? Hell, we just allowed the Dumbocrats to STEAL the White House for a mentally “challenged” Joe Biden with hardly a whimper from the so-called “opposition”.
As for your comment about demand for small dogs, those Chichis were slated for the needle the next day!
As for animal rights whackos, that is the very first time I’ve heard that a segment of them seek to increase the euthanasia rate. Most of those I’ve met are trying to STOP THE PUPPY MILLS from putting more pups into a system where they wind up on the wrong end of that needle because some asshole paid 200 bucks for a pup they won’t take time to housebreak, etc.
Your posts are an exact recreation of leftist wacko propaganda.
1. First photo assert the plausible i.e Labs and Pit Bulls are common in shelters.
2. next assert the implausible, "even the most in demand dogs are getting the needle!"
"The Dog Shortage is Real" -
"A 2015 Moore Information national survey and a 2016 Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine study, each commissioned by the Pet Leadership Council, confirmed a fact many of us long feared: We have a shortage of dogs in America despite the impression created by TV ads about overcrowded shelters. Yes, certain shelters (often rural or in challenging urban locales) still have too many dogs, but most of the United States is experiencing a shortage, and would-be adopters scramble each weekend to find an adoptable dog”

Biff,
My deepest sympathies go to you.
I don’t know if you’re a Christian or not, but if you are please get a copy of a book called Animals And Christianity by Linzey and Regan.
This book includes selections from the following: the Bible, St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Augustine, Karl Barth, St. Bonaventure, John Calvin, René Descartes, Austin Farrer, John Hick, St. Irenaeus, St. John of the Cross, C. S. Lewis, St. Thomas More, E. F. Schumacher, Albert Scheweitzer, Paul Tillich, Leo Tolstoy, Alec Vidler, John Wesley, and others.
The article by C. S. Lewis was the easiest for me to understand. It made it clear to me that I’ll be reunited with my dogs in Heaven.
Here’s the Amazon link, but you could probably find it elsewhere: https://smile.amazon.com/Animals-Christianity-Readings-Andrew-Linzey/dp/1556356889/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3A2XLG9N84DC9&dchild=1&keywords=animals+and+christianity&qid=1611618791&sprefix=animals+and+ch%2Caps%2C188&sr=8-1
I am so sorry.
After my first dog died, it took me 20 years to get another one.
Take some time, but don’t wait that long.
Prayers for you.
Prayers up. God bless you for your kindness.
I'm so very sorry for this late reply, her name was Heidi.
When we found her 12 years ago, she was in quarantine, but she wagged her tail at me, I knew I would give her a home.
We adopted, and brought her to her new home, and she fell in love with the ratty couch in the apartment. That couch was her "Throne".
I noticed about 4 months before she was having trouble with getting up to her couch(throne), and I bought a nice doggie bed for her, and she would not have none of the doggie bed.
A week before she passed away she was desperately trying to get to get up, and I helped her up. It was kinda of like the last time of being the "Queen".
After she died, we donated the nice doggie bed and a 5 lb sack of dog food to the shelter where we found her.
Thank you all for your kind prayers.
What you stated above is so true.
As I was cleaning out my old wallet, a picture of Heidi showed up, and the memories flooded back.
So sorry
So sorry
So many sympathies for you. Our cat was euthanized last month due to diabetes. We lost another to cancer in 2020. When they go, part of your soul goes with them. I still cry every day a little.
When our remaining three are gone, there’ll be no more.
Thank you for your condolences. I, time to time, visit this thread to remember.
Well anyway, last week, I was staying at a hotel next to another hotel, where there was a Great Dane dog show and there were 10 Great Danes doing nature.
Petted then, they were gentle and great creatures.
Thank you for remembering. My wonderful Dane still lives within me. There is no other breed of dog that can do this to a person.
We moved, and kept in touch, until 10 months ago.
God Bless Bobby, he adored Heidi.
