I keep reading of some low temps some of you are experiencing. I'm sorry you're going through that. Perhaps this will brighten your day. They are from my neighbor's yard (mine aren't quite yet this far along in blooming).

My pillow has pet products? I have to go look for those. And send chewy a nasty email in the process.

Good morning. Watching the birds. Dozens of finches (gold and house) cardinals, jays every wood pecked we have in Indiana, TowEE, titmouse, chickadee, junco. Hundreds eating at the feeders in the shelter outside the window. No work on house again this week and don’t expect any next. Just too cold. We have heat but no running water. Snow melts fine for toilets.

Met a homeless man living in a tent behind the Waffle House on Wednesday Both Paul and I got the message that we are truly blessed. Made sure he had money for food and know that the waitress is a compassionate person. It’s open 24 hours and he has a sleeping bag. Brought back many memories for Paul as he’s been there.
Pray for the homeless

My dad recited every year. (Our are just coming up ). Thanks for sharing.

WILLIAM WORDSWORTH
Daffodils

I WANDER’D lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o’er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the Milky Way,
They stretch’d in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed—and gazed—but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

Good morning, lysie!

Breakfast couldn’t be better, thanks.

Did Biden order this cold front by EO?

It sure goes along with his “Dark Winter” scenario.

That one is refreshing. This one, also, speaks volumes to me, especially the last line.

DLTK's Crafts for Kids
Daffodowndilly

by A.A. Milne

She wore her yellow sun-bonnet,
She wore her greenest gown;
She turned to the south wind
And curtsied up and down.
She turned to the sunlight
And shook her yellow head,
And whispered to her neighbour:
"Winter is dead."

Winter (which is so deadly and depressing to me) is dead.

“Is this the first time your pond froze?”

Did about 7 years ago. Doesn’t freeze all the way because we have a fountain on one end that keep a small area open, about a 20 foot circle. This way the ducks and geese can get a little water. But the rest of the pond’s 3 acres will freeze solid. I had sent you the picture of my cat that walks on water (the partial frozen pond). Guineas are hopping around and hanging close to their house. We all have cold feet!

I love the change of seasons. Can’t say one is a favorite each has its blessing. The purity of snow and crisp air combine with warm toasty fire for toes and the gathering of critters from the nearby woods. These are the attributes I love of winter. But also am looking forward to the pale greens and coming alive of spring.

I do miss the kitchen - cooking and baking and wood fire but next year!

We are under a “Winter Weather Advisory” here.

So winter not dead here yet.

It isn’t as bitterly cold as other parts of our nation though.

crisp air That's my problem. I can't breathe crisp air as it does horrible things to my red blood cells in my lungs. It is a rare condition.

LG, take heart, spring will get here and then GLORIOUS SUMMER!!!! I know. Many people can't endure the heat.
