The reason given is that they resigned because of disagreement over the defense strategy.
Resigning over internal disputes just weeks before an impeachment trial?
That sounds like bovine excrement to me.

2. PROMISES TO DESTROY THEM, THEIR REPUTATIONS, THEIR BUSINESSES AND DRIVE THEM INTO POVERTY
3. PROMISES TO RETALIATE AGAINST THEIR FAMILIES (CANCEL CULTURE - NO TOP COLLEGE, NO JOBS, ETC.)
4. THREATS (PROMISES) OF VIOLENCE AGAINST THEM OR THEIR FAMILIES
5. ALL OF THE ABOVE

Why is Biden signing all those executive orders in a dining room instead of in the beautiful and presidential oval office? Could it have anything to do with the need for a big flatscreen computer monitor type teleprompter placed directly in front of him? It would be difficult to place a big flatscreen monitor inconspicuously in an oval shaped room.

I don’t think putting it in a rectangular room makes it easier to hide.
I suspect the answer is social distancing. The dining room allows him to be further away from the media.
All of the above plus the lawyers may have wanted President Trump to put up a very narrow defense, not bringing up anything that even hinted at the election fraud that led to Joe’s being given the election. I see this impeachment hearing as PDJT’s best chance to get some of the evidence into the public awareness. It will have to be very carefully done.
Snow starts this evening. Must drive to Indy tomorrow where there will be even more. Hopefully the road crews will be out.

From the start I had the expectation the the democrats in charge will not permit even the slightest comment or reference to the voter fraud and stolen election.
Whatever the reasons it seems highly unprofessional and suspect for a legal defense team to abandon the defendant so close to the trial date for any trial.
But especially on something so serious with such potentially far reaching impact as a second impeachment trial brought against someone no longer in office.
The outcome of this upcoming trial, fake as it may be, could upset long standing precedent and cause reinterpretation of pertinent constitutiional passages.
Have they left (former) president Trump to slowly twist in the wind?

I think it is highly unethical to abandon your client in this fashion.
There is no way the strategy was not laid out by Trump at the very first meeting.
That was when you leave if you don’t agree with it.
The head guy, Bowers, was recommended by Lindsey Graham. He was probably reporting back to Graham what the strategy was going to be. This was all done on purpose, as the “abandonment” gives credence for the MSM to say Trump has no case and is guilty, after all, his lawyers abandoned him.
If I were Trump, I would not send a single lawyer to this Senate proceeding.
He should say to McConnell and Schumer: go ahead and have your trial of this illegal and unconstitutional impeachment, so the American people can see just how corrupt you really are. I am a private citizen, and what you attempting to do as no basis in the Constitution or in law. Even if you take me to a civil court, there is no proof I incited anyone to riot.
Trump can make his case for fraud two ways:
1. Through the US military taking over, as Joe Biden is now a compromised asset of a foreign power which interfered in our elections, or:
2. Communicating directly to the American people through a method(s) totally controlled by him and not dependent on Big Tech or the MSM.
Sooner or later, the truth will prevail.
Especially with over 70 million allies.
