We've had ours without touching it for three years. I bought a cook book and items to use for cooking. But told my hubby I will NOT learn how to use it. He has never grilled outside and I told him it was time he learned how to cook someway. And he has finally taken me seriously. I do all the maintenance around the house I can or call for help in bigger jobs. He pays all the bills. I think he will actually become a very good cook with our fryer.

Sorry to hear your shoulder problem is still acting up. I use a pillow that many use between their knees at night. I support my neck and head with it taking all the pressure off of my shoulder at night. When I retired my should was hurting like a toothache. I have no more pain. Hope this helps.

LIKE MANY OF the people who work for him at Philly Fighting COVID, Doroshin doesn’t have much health-care expertise. He’s in the fifth year of a combined undergrad/master’s psychology program, experience he readily admits isn’t germane to running health clinics.

Doroshin’s main qualification might have been that he’s audacious enough to suggest he’s qualified in the first place. There’s no denying his knack for salesmanship. His bio on the Philly Fighting COVID webpage states that he began his career as a director of photography for AND Productions in Los Angeles, formed and taught at the Rancho Mirage Film Department, then resigned to start a nonprofit focused on air pollution.

Left unsaid is the fact that AND Productions was founded by Doroshin’s father and appears to have no real online footprint. The YouTube channel for Doroshin’s other film project, a production company he founded called SpeedJumpFilms, includes one short film, along with videos of people longboarding and doing not-especially-impressive parkour routines. The Rancho Mirage Film Department was a high-school film class Doroshin helped teach while he was a student there, and the nonprofit he started, Invisible Sea, mostly consisted of a meme-heavy Twitter account, some minor community lobbying, and a fund-raiser with a $50,000 goal that netted $684. (“It didn’t do very well,” Doroshin says of the nonprofit. He also admits that his time at AND Productions — when he was a 14-year-old making short films with his dad — probably shouldn’t have been on his official bio. “I’m sorry about that,” he says.)

I’ve know people like that, enhance their resume and people fall for them without doing a check on them. Two of my bosses did not listen to me and got taken to the cleaners by people they hired. I did tell them “I told you so”.

The bill to make D.C. the 51st state would create two new senators.

As long as the Senate maintains the filibuster, Democrats would need 10 Republicans willing to join them.

However, if the filibuster is dismantled, Democrats could push home statehood for D.C. on a simple majority vote in which Vice President Kamala Harris could break a 50-50 tie, The Hill reported.

Stasha Rhodes, campaign manager for the group “51 for 51,” linked the Capitol incursion with statehood for D.C.

“I think that our entrenched systems of white supremacy protected the men and women committing treason,” Rhodes said.

“And for over 200 years, the same racist institutions have disenfranchised the majority black and brown residents in D.C. who live in the heart of our government, but who also help keep it running. Any time D.C.’s lack of sovereignty is on display for the nation, it heightens the awareness and the calls for statehood.”

I have no sympathy for DC whining about no representation. As a conservative Marylander, I have no representation in DC, either. Both of my senators and my representative actively vote against my interests and wishes. As far as I am concerned, if they took away my two Maryland senators, I'd still have as much of a voice in Washington as ever. And, I don't have to hide behind claims of racism victimhood. My problem is systemic leftism.

I personally am hoping under POTUS this March or April they give the entire DC back to Maryland. And make it public your state went Red this last election and has been Red for quite some time. Trying to be patient. Take care.
