There are millions of Americans who will refuse to believe this sentence: There is no credible evidence of any significant fraud in the 2020 presidential election.
Different people will take issue with different words. Some will reject the idea that the evidence that’s been presented by President Trump and his allies in conservative media and on Capitol Hill isn’t credible. But it isn’t; amateur affidavits aren’t credible evidence any more than tortured numerical analysis is. Others will debate the word “substantive,” willfully claiming that the existence of any fraud - which exists at a small scale, as it generally does - somehow suggests a level of fraud that calls into question President-elect Joe Biden’s victory margins of more than 10,000 votes in several states.
Those who refuse to acknowledge the reality of Biden’s win will have different motivations for doing so. Some will dismiss my arguments as illegitimate simply because they come from the hated mainstream media. For a large part of the population, Trump’s obvious bias somehow lends him more credibility than The Washington Post’s imputed bias. Others will reject my arguments because Trump’s allies have generated a mountain of nonsense meant to serve as a counterweight to reality, as though a million drawings of unicorns combined with a fervent desire to believe that unicorns exist can offset the complete lack of demonstrated evidence of the creatures. One of the marvels of the Trump era, in fact, is how often “desire to believe” has replaced “reason to believe” as a motivator for a belief system.

but it is still better than the crap that the media said was credible when they were attacking Trump. That’s the point.
It is actually more than 50%, and that includes Biden voters. From a poll a few weeks ago.
False premise. Out of the some three thousand counties in the US, the questionable actions focus on about 6. But those 6 swung the swing states which swung the election.
When will the mainstream media and the Democratic party finally admit that their entire Russian collusion narrative for the 2016 election was a hoax?
Let me know when they stop using “Mail in ballots” then I might believe there was no Fraud
Exactly!!!
My thing is I don’t know for sure that there was massive election fraud but one thing is for sure, they wouldn’t look at the evidence and THAT stinks to high heaven.
And what about the “broken water main/pipe/leak whatever?” That “lie” was spread by the all-knowing media and was the excuse that counting stopped?
The first test will be the signatures on the petitions. For elections Democrats think rejecting ballots because of a signature mismatch disenfranchises voters and is a very bad thing. That's why they have sued multiple states to stop the states from doing signature matching on absentee ballots. And when Democratic friendly poll workers compared signatures on absentee ballots the rates of rejections were tiny.
But watch what they do when it comes to the signatures on the recall petitions. Anyone want to bet on a lot of rejections?
Strangely worn like a badge of honor...
At least they’re admitting it.
I read a poll about 5 years ago. I forget what the subject was but buried in the question was one about believing Obama was born in the US. 70% yes, 30% no.
So, having a third of the public believing POTUS is illegitimate is NORMAL.
What’s different this time is the source of the illegitimacy. Now, the election process has lost the trust of the public. And elections are the ruse that governments use to claim legitimacy.
The story about the 2020 Election is going to get worse. The truth can't be suppressed forever.
If he was truly candid, he would admit to being a shill for the Democrat Party.
Just my opinion.
“Some will dismiss my arguments as illegitimate...”
Well, Phil, no doubt we’d do just that if you had made any arguments, but you didn’t. Unsupported assertions are not arguments.
This article doesn’t mention the Washington Post contributed to the Trump Russia collusion narrative for 3 years (2016 - release of the Mueller report in 2019). I’m sure that is one reason why so many conservatives don’t trust the Washington Post and the main stream media.
What’s an ‘actual journalist’? We haven’t had many of them in years; it’s increasingly difficult to find a viable one still surviving in the wild.
I wonder if the Philip Bump person is the sort who would sign a false affidavit under penalty of perjury...
Anyone have pointers to links showing that each and every one of these outcomes has been done?
Uh, more like 5 in 10. Because there was.
