Monday's "Tonight Show" averaged the smallest TV audience ever for an original episode of the show, according to early ratings. Jimmy Fallon drew just 947,000 total viewers last night.
Stephen Colbert's "Late Show" on CBS won the evening with 2.03 million viewers, according to Nielsen's Live + Same Day fast-national numbers. ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" came in second place among the late-night television programs with 1.67 million total viewers.
Numbers for each of those shows are subject to adjustment when final figures are tallied. Those are expected to be available Wednesday.
While this specific historical Nielsen data only dates back to 1986, it is safe to say that Johnny Carson always attracted more than a million viewers in a very different era.

More worth watching today for humor than today’s late night shows.

ALL the ‘late night’ talk show hosts are propagandist libtards. I will admit that Fallon can be funny sometimes, unlike the rest of the puerile ‘hosts’.
I don’t watch any of the shows. I just never heard or saw him in stories here being a douche like Colbert or Kimmel.
Woot woot, pay cut or cancel.
Ask yourself. Who controls Nielsen and who would believe their data. Just can’t picture any reasonable people actually watching Colbert or Kimmel.
Fallon is not as partisan as the others but even then, he felt pressured to throw in a joke about Trump every now and then because of peer pressure in Hollywood. If Jay Leno was still there, he would find a way to make fun of Joe Biden’s senility. But that would get him fired.

I was watching the Johnny Carson Channel last night...what a great show...something’s said by both the host and guest couldn’t be said today...Even Jay Leno was great...

You've hit on a great truth. Without hate, the left has no reason to exist. This is why the hate will continue to be ratcheted up against Trump's family, his cabinet, his supporters, and then any Republican even if they were never-Trumpers, and then they will turn their hate on blue dog demoncraps, then demoncraps who are center left at all, and then anybody who is not sufficiently marxist.

Liberalism like PC is having a quick death.
I sometimes watch videos of Carson on YouTube (though I guess I won’t be on YouTube that much anymore.) and its kind of heartbreaking. It was a better America then, culture-wise. No political rancor, just entertainment.
