These are insane times for all Patriots.
Since the rally of Jan 6 (that I was a part of), Trump has been basically off the grid and his whereabouts unknown.
Lot of rumors that he would address the nation at 9PM (for past three nights) but never materialized.
Where is he? Is he under some kind of "house arrest" or is he fully in control of events and about to surprise us all with some actions?
I still plan to write a long article about my experiences in Washington DC on Jan 6 but I'm still absorbing that day. It was definitely the most surreal day of my life.
In meantime, the establishment, the media, big tech and the millions of sheep here in America are in their glory days. They really feel that they have won. That they have stolen this election and are about to be rid of Donald Trump, the "usurper", forever.
I would beg to differ. Trump had at least 80 million voters on Nov 3 (and probably more). We are in the majority. The problem is, we have been outflanked due to the immense power of MSM and big tech.
But we will not be silenced.
We still have this little sanctuary called Free Republic. Hopefully many others come here in the days ahead. Although we are still "Web 1.0" here, that has helped kept us under the radar. I think it will be very difficult for big tech to shut us down.
As for social media, Twitter is dead to me. I de-activated my account there Friday, hours after they suspended Donald Trump's account. No true patriot should be active there any longer.
As for other social media, looks like Parler will be offline for a while. In the meantime...
You can sideload the Parler app on Android. Instructions abound on the Web for that.
iOS users are probably screwed unless you jailbreak your iPhone - which will lead to other issues.
Gab is the best bet right now, as they are not dependent on apps and have their own servers.
On my iPhone, I was able to create a Gab icon that functions just like an app. Basically you navigate to Gab on your mobile browser and create a shortcut to your home screen (Safari is best for this). You then get a shortcut with the Gab logo and it functions just like any other app.
Gab did an excellent job coding their website to be optimal on a mobile browser.
Kudos to them. I hope Parler follows suit and I plan to be active here as well as Gab and Free Republic.
Meet you all on the other side of this madness! We will get through this and remember, no matter how dark things get in the days ahead, we outnumber the enemies of freedom. The United States must survive. We are still the only country standing between freedom and slavery.
From experience I write. Those people under serious and credible death threats are not always visible about locations. Trust.
There is a great sale on Norton 360 now (check Amazon), which includes VPN service for the number of devices you purchase the subscription for. It's now less than $50 for 20 devices (Platinum) for 1 year. Turn off the automatic renewal after purchasing and they'll likely have another sale before your service expires that you can then get much cheaper!
Which reminds me I need to go check when mine expires, tho I usually set myself a reminder in my calendar.
Once he was cancelled there, I left promptly.
Until this cartel is broken up by Congress or the courts, the future of free speech are browser based forums like this, which are immune to app store blackouts, and foreign country server hosting, which are immune to US communist pressure tactics.
It would be great if platforms like WhatsApp created their own free exchange forum. The big tech app stores would not be able to block it since its use without impacting hundreds of millions of people worldwide. There is no collateral impact to banning Parler.
Exactly. People need to calm down a bit and breathe.
Yes making MAGA plans part two.
I believe POTUS has been at Camp David this weekend. Looking forward to reading about your experience in DC last week, Sam!
Opera is ChiCom owned. The Swedes/Danes(?) sold it off to them.
Hmmm, so how in God's green earth did our Founding Fathers ever pull off a Revolution....?
They have a mobile browser
Gotcha.
I just canceled Amazon last night.
Carrier pigeon?
I love firefox so I don’t know if I’ll be giving it up as long as they don’t start blocking sites like FR. With FF, I right click, move pointer to Open in New Tab and let go of the mouse button. Super fast single motion and single click. Every other browser you have to right click, move pointer to open in new tab and then left click. I do web design and ff has the best set of tools for web dev. I run two instances of ff; regular ff and ff developer’s edition. I also run Brave at the same time. I’m an open tab maniac and probably have 150 tabs open between the three browsers.
Something I hate about Brave is the tabs won’t scroll. They just build up and get narrower and narrower until there’s not even one letter showing for the title of the tab. I’ve searched for an extension for scroll tabs but there’s not one. One thing I do like about Brave is a right click Open Image in New Tab feature.
Falkon is a nice fast browser too and like Brave, is a Chromium based browser, https://www.falkon.org/download/ Falkon has the File, Edit, View etc toolbar. Also has a bookmarks toolbar but they put it below the address bar which is different. I haven’t opened enough tabs in Falkon yet to know if they’ll be scrollable. Falkon is made by KDE(Linux) so I don’t know how the Windows version is. Ought to be the same for the most part. It has a built in Adblock.
Chromium is what Chrome and others are based on. So when someone says Chrome based browser, it’s really Chromium based. Chromium can be installed easily in Linux but for Windows, you have to compile the source code of the nightly builds. The Chromium Project is sponsored by google but Chromium is open source. Most of Chrome’s source code comes from Google’s free and open-source software project Chromium, but Chrome is licensed as proprietary freeware. I don’t trust google. They did get caught sneaking tracking stuff into the code years back. Sadly, Chrome is the most used browser. It’s also the main part of Chrome OS which is what most tablets use. Chrome OS is based on Gentoo Linux. Google loves taking advantage of the work of Open Source developers and their software and turning out a product that’s proprietary.
I loath google but all these Chromium based browsers don’t really have anything to do with google aside from the fact that google sponsors Chromium development. Chromium itself is open source though so it’s safe. You do have to use the same Extensions store as Chrome and that’s run by google but most of the extensions/themes themselves are third party.
Opera and MS Edge browsers are also based on Chromium. I use Opera Mini on our Android phone.
It’s too bad he’s not here.
He could declassify everything but the agencies won't make the info available. That's already happened. We have a rogue fedgov
“is he fully in control of events and about to surprise us all with some actions?”
I think that’s the thing. And I’ll bet Nancy is peeing her pants in her frantic lunatic mode now. She wonders, too. Hahaha!
Does anyone recall back in the early days of Trump, either just before or after the election, him saying that he had been “recruited” by the military? I think I remember something like that.

Odd pricing system but they won’t ban you for your beliefs.
There are others, many offshore; https://hacker10.com/other-computing/list-of-free-speech-and-offshore-hosting-companies/
At the November 14th rally, I met up with two lovely elderly ladies, one of whom undertook the entire march with a walker. I didn’t see anyone like that on 1/6, but there were a few of those semi-wheelchair things that serve as walking support as well as a seat. The mud of the ellipse was a challenge for anything with wheels. I hesitated to go when I got the safety briefing from our bus organizers but I’m glad I packed a few extras and went. Sometimes it is important to bear witness. Had I been 10 years older I wouldn’t have done it.
