Mozilla, developer of the Firefox internet browser, has argued that more must be done to keep Donald Trump and other “bad actors” out of cyberspace, prompting many to vow to never use the group’s services again.
In a blog post titled ‘We need more than deplatforming’, the open-source software community said that Twitter’s decision to permanently ban Trump from its platform didn’t go far enough in weeding out “hate” on the internet. While blaming Trump for the “siege and take-over” of the US Capitol on January 6, the non-profit tech group argued that “white supremacy is about more than any one personality.”
“We need solutions that don’t start after untold damage has been done.Changing these dangerous dynamics requires more than just the temporary silencing or permanent removal of bad actors from social media platforms,” Mozilla wrote.

Try Opera and Pale Moon, as a back-up.
I still remember what these devils did to Brendan Eich.
Brave works for me.
I’ll get rid of Firefox in a bit.
Barely used it anyway.
Using it right now.
I use Pale Moon..I like it..
I’ve used Firefox for years.
1) what alternatives (won’t use chrome or microsoft) should i consider?
2) how do I move my bookmarks from firefox to the new browser?
TIA
The homofascists at Mozilla fired the boss for donating his own money to Prop 8 in California. A proposition that was wildly popular among Democrat and Republican voters
This is the same company that fired its CEO Brendon Eich over his personal contribution to support a ballot item opposing “gay marriage “. A ballot item that overwhelmingly passed, but overturned by a politburo that called itself a court.
Brave browser is awesome. No YouTube ads.
What a bunch of virtue signaling wankers.
I stopped using Firefox last year sometime. I got sick of them running ad scripts in the background that caused my computer to freeze up. Switched to Chrome and that problem stopped. I know, I should get rid of Google Chrome too.
I guess it’s full time to Brave for me. I’ve been using Firefox for decades. They were bought by people who made this current stance pretty much inevitable. Brave is very good. Very light on resources. Has a Tor browser, which will become important very soon.
I have it’s nice. I will look for 2 more browsers to replace Firefox & Chrome.
Mozilla was the company that in effect, forced their CEO Brenda Eich ( the inventor of JavaScript and founder of the Mozilla Project) to resign in 2014 after someone discovered that he privately, without fuss, contributed a few thousand dollars to California’s Proposition 8 which called for the affirmation of traditional marriage in California.
As far back as 2014 I already knew that the employees and higher ups of this company were INTOLERANT of any dissenting beliefs.
Eich went on to found BRAVE Software, an Internet browser platform company. I have been using this browser as well as the Epic Privacy browser since.
Brave is a free and open-source web browser developed by Brave Software, Inc. based on the Chromium web browser. It blocks ads and website trackers, and provides a way for users to send cryptocurrency contributions in the form of Basic Attention Tokens to websites and content creators.
As of 2020, Brave has been released for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS. As of 2017 Brave supported five search engines by default, including their partner, DuckDuckGo.
I heartily recommend it. It is robust and well designed. Screw Mozilla. May it die the death of abandonment.
Wow. They always were liberal but crap, now they are power-hungry tyrants too apparently. If so take a flying leap mozilla
You’re not paying Firefox when you use it. I don’t know if it’s a priority to find an alternative, but maybe there are.
Haven’t used it myself.
Been using it for a while now and find it quick and error free — so to speak.
Using Linux. Which browser would folks suggest? Non Google infected browser that is?
