Kyrie Irving’s Nets absence a reaction to Capitol Hill riot
New York Post ^ | Jan, 8, 2021 | By Brian Lewis

Kyrie Irving didn’t fly with the Nets for Friday’s game at Memphis, and his status (along with that of Kevin Durant) is still up in the air for Sunday’s home tilt against the Thunder.

A source familiar with the situation told The Post that Irving is fine physically, but was upset by the attack on the U.S. Capitol in Washington by supporters of President Donald Trump.

The All-Star isn’t AWOL, and the team has been aware of why he’s not playing. Irving, in essence, took personal days, according to a source.

He should be suspended without pay and have to apologize to his teammates. Yeah, right!

And he should apologize to the paying customer. Oh, that is part sarcasm.

Probably kneeling in front of a flag. He probably wasn’t staying at a Holiday Inn or eating at an Olive Garden (see Anderson Cooper reference). Perhaps he was watching on TV at a $2500/night room at the Four Seasons or eating at the Palm complaining about “white privilege.”

Kyrie ARNTP Irving.
Any Reason Not To Play

Red Auerbach would have kicked the current Celtic owners in the head for ever hiring this quitter.

Honestly I think as the rhetoric and violence kicks up you’re going to notice how the snowflakes begin to fade away, OD, or kill themselves.

Wife and I both got emails yesterday from our “noble CEO’s” denouncing the “attack on the Capital”. Both messages also had a medical hotline # on there in case of anybody needed to speak to available counselors for their emotional support to handle the duress.

We both LOL!

Irving is a snowflake!

I had a friend who was an athletic trainer (or in that department) at a major college/university. This was years ago. He tended to baseball, hockey and basketball players mostly. I don’t recall football but I suppose that was in his duties as well. Anyway, he told me basketball players were by far the biggest whiners. Not only privileged but they cried at the smallest injury. Hockey, of course, was the opposite. Stitch me up and let’s play.

He is/was a cog in the blm communist bidenists propaganda machine.

Big strong man is a snowflake. If he’s a snowflake, imagine how big a snowflake

most of the normal sized blm/antifa people will be if the SHTF.

Those snowflakes will fade into the woodwork and count their ill-gotten gain.

It’s the blue helmets to watch out for.

I can easily see Basketball players being the biggest whiners.

My sport is soccer. Folks accuse soccer players of being wimps, but the game gets a bad rep due to divers.

There’s a video on YouTube that has a compilation of soccer deaths on the pitch. I believe it had over 40 recorded incidents there. A good bit are heart attacks due to running. The worst one was a guy getting stabbed in the head with the cleats of another player.

Wonder what he makes per day while he’s too shook to bounce a ball.
What a man.

I had virtually no interest in soccer until I started mentoring a boy who had quite a skill at it ( he graduated high school last year as first-team All-State in soccer). Now it is by far my favorite sport. Most people have no clue how tough you have to be to be a successful soccer player. I’d say when my boy was 12 years old I would no longer even get in the net because I was afraid that I wouldn’t have the reflexes to get out of the way of a shot. And players have to deflect this cannonball with their head. Goalies are flat out crazy. Never mind the physical contact that goes on without pads that people just aren’t aware of. And I was a hockey player my whole life through college. Soccer is a tougher sport. At least played at the most competitive level. It would be much much more popular if they had real serious penalties for the diving and acting.

Infamous NHL grinder Claude Lemieux had a brother Jocelyn who played for the Chicago Blackhawks for several years. He took a skate to the face during a game and needed 120 stitches to fix the carnage. He came back out for the next period and finished the game.

Yup. Rick MacLeish was the accidental recipient of Marcel Dionne’s skate blade across the throat supposedly less than an inch from the jugular. I believe he received 85-to-90 stitches. He played the next week.

That means the Nets probably won without him, with a true point guard like Dinwiddie, who gets the whole team involved....Kyrie is self involved on and off the court

Ever get hit with a 90 mph fastball?

Not trying to be a wise guy, since I only played softball and whiffe ball....just wondering how you would rate it compared to the soccer ball or a hockey puck/stick/skate?

I would think that getting hit by a Rafael Nidal first serve would smart a bit too!
