I’ve been to the Capitol three times, once before 9/11 when one could wander large areas no longer accessible. Even on the very limited area open to tours now, you pass right by the Speaker’s office, which is very prominently marked.

I suspect the same thing. After the Oklahoma City bombing, you had to go through metal detectors to get into the Federal Building in Westwood, Calif., a hassle since everyone carries car keys and their cell phone. And free parking in their parking lot was curtailed.

What needs to be pieced together is a timeline. What time was it when the protestors fought with the Capitol Police over the barracades in relation to Trump’s speech? When was teargas deployed at in what area? When was the breech of the capitol doors? Where was the main crowd in relation to the above? Still listening to Trump? Still walking? We’ve seen clips of all the above, but no timeline.
Which means it’ll be easier to find the thieves.

Trump has never been an idiot. There are very few people on this planet who can think on their feet better in crisis situations.
The rally and speeches accomplished a very useful purpose to have all those people there. It closed a very important chapter of what comes next.
It aroused righteous indignation in Trump followers — the casual way that Pence skirted around the issue. And now we see Ted Cruz, the turncoat, showing his true colors.
These observations have taught us much. Plus Trump’s speech was worth waiting for. I also saw many new faces give speeches and they were short, to the point, and terrific. These are tomorrow’s leaders. I liked what I saw and I’m grateful to everyone who took the time and trouble to go there and support our President.
Wouldn’t that be great. . . I’ve got the popcorn on the ready.
