The BBC have refused to comment on speculation that Jodie Whittaker has quit her role as the 13th Time Lord on Doctor Who.

It was reported on Sunday by The Mirror that Jodie had turned in her notice for the long-running sci-fi/adventure series after three years on the show

A BBC spokesman told Digital Spy: 'We won't be commenting on any speculation around Jodie's future on the show.'

The move to make the Doctor a woman, was just a cheap gimmic to try to increase ratings without actually addressing the underlying problem.

An actual example of "Jumping the shark".

The problem is, for US viewers, it’s gotten to the point where they need subtitles to be understood.

“British......Extremelely British...I didn’t understand what they were saying.”

“I thought they were speaking a foreign language.....I don’t think I heard a single consonant.”

The same BBC that harbored Jimmy Saville for years.

I remember Troy McClure from “Locker Room Towel Fight. The Blinding of Larry Driscoll.”
I go back to Tom Baker and think he was great. But David Tennant was also a great Doctor. Blink and the Library are classics.

I go back to the Patrick Troughton days.

I still remember the episode when he transformed into Jon Pertwee :)

I saw one episode. Two old guys, both with dead birds on their heads, talking. OK, I saw HALF of an episode!

I was able to get about 1/2 way through the 3rd episode of the new Doctor, who YouTube pundits are now calling her “Dr. Karen.”

I loved Dr. Who since the John Pertwee days, and I used to be a long time Dr Who watcher, who joined a local group for monthly discussions and PBS fund-raising drives for Dr Who and Monty Python. I was actually at the St. Louis convention where Peter Davison announced that he and his wife were pregnant, the baby who would eventually star in “The Doctor’s Daughter” and marry David Tennant!

But I lost interest in the show shortly after Colin Baker joined, but when Peter Eckelston joined up, I got excited with the sho again with David Tennant and Matt Smith. Peter Capaldi was something of a hit-or-miss for me, but Jody was really pretty bad.

And now it appears that from the latest Dr. Who writers, they didn’t just do “serious violence to the cannon,” they obliterated it completely, just as Disney did to Star Wars (and it appears that there’s been a fan revolt over that as well!)

The Dr. is no longer an old man who stole the TARDIS. Instead, it’s a little black girl who’s not even from Gallyfrey! Everything we’ve come to know about the Doctor is a complete lie, according to the BBC writers.

The BBC wants to kill Dr Who, and it appears that what they’re doing...

Though people have gone on and on about the Daleks or even the Cybermen as villains, nothing give me a greater case of the "heebie-jeebies" than "The Weeping Angels!" Holy crap, they really freak me out!

"Blink" is an amazing episode!" And "The Library" is really great, because of how it introduces River Song, and "SPOILERS!" :-)

She played her part perfectly, and the show had another woman character with Time Lord powers, who easily could have carried her own spinoff show:

Georgia Moffett brought enormous charisma to the character, and is the real life daughter of Peter Davison, who played the 5th Doctor.

She is also the real life wife of David Tennant.

I went to the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam ( about a week before it was robbed). I do not recall seeing Starry Night, but I did see one of his Sunflowers in a vase. I saw a painting called the “Cottage”. It really caught my eye but I know nothing about art. A gentleman came over who spoke English and showed me how to view the art. There were lines on the floor, I thought they were those lines to tell you which way to go. They were actually to tell you the optimum distance to view a painting. When I stood where he told me to stand the picture seem to come to life. You could almost feel the warmth coming from the cottage. The light from the cottage was the only light in the picture, I imagined a woodsman coming out of the darkness towards the warmth an security of the peasant woman and the hut.

I had forgotten about Saville. Yes, the very same BBC. Makes you wonder what other skeletons are rattling around in the closets there.

I did like the few episodes I saw with Clara. While I enjoyed watching Rose, Amy and the always sexy River Song, the best companion was Doctor Donna. She really brought energy and attitude to the show. She was fun to watch.

I am not sure they can bring Doctor Who back. They get more viewers from reruns then they do original content. They would have to bend time and space to return to the Doctor Who of Tennant and Smith. They went woke and broke the series. I liked the show because it had no basis in reality. The bad guys were straight out of the Fifties and Sixities. The characters were unreal, even the ones not from outer space. It was a break from all the bullshit life throws at us. They went woke and wrote the BS into the show. No fun to watch. How would you like to be known as the writer who killed Doctor Who.

‘Torchwood” became unwatchable. Everyone knew Jack Harkness was gay, it did not affect the show and he never came across as pushing gay a gay agenda in the story line. He was just another Companion who happened to be gay. But “Torchwood” made gay a major part of the story line, instead of fight aliens in a world that now knew it was vulnerable to alien attacks.

Donna was a good companion. Honestly most since the reboot in 05 had been through Clara.. I mean honestly Clara often carried the show during her time...

Dr Who since the reboot would always have a “preachy” Episode now and again, but for the most part was simply entertaining. Even when it was purely obvious they were pushing homosexual normalization during the Russel T Davies era (every single episode had a gay character in it, and you were made sure to know they were gay, even though there was really no reason to know or care about their sexuality).

However in spite of that the shows we’re entertaining.. fun and escapism.

The writing began to decline significantly in the Matt Smith era... was still watchable but clearly nowhere near the level it had been before... as every season wore on the writing continued to get worse on average.. and not surprisingly the ratings continued to fall.

The make the master a woman was a pander and the make the doctor a woman was a complete and total pander. And of course the idiot feminists who praised it weren’t fans of the show.. so all their kudos weren’t going to save it. Hell DR Who since it’s rebirth has produced tons of strong female characters... and any fan of the show would know this.. but back when they announced this the usual feminazis screamed about how it was great to have a strong woman in the show etc...

They turned in for a few episodes, then remembered they hate sci-fi.. and moved on.. while the true fans, the bread and butter of the paychecks have had to suffer the pain week after week of this poorly thought out PR stunt.

Want the Doctor to return to glory?!? I think you have to fire Chris Chibnall, and bring in an entirely new experienced writing. Staff.

Dr who’s decline started in the Moffat era.. he just wasn’t as good as Davies and clearly Chibnall isn’t as good as Moffat..

Law of diminishing returns... until they bring in better writing, the shows going nowhere fast.

Again, I don’t thing Jodie or the rest of the cast are bad actors
They are doing their jobs well, it’s just what they are being asked to do is... frankly largely crap.

For those who don’t watch or know much about DR Who it’s important to put this is context.

DR Who is the british/uk superhero.. yes technically he’s an alien, but he is and always has been a uniquely British/UK Product

Dr Who is to them, what Superman is to the US.

He is an Icon and an institution.
