Just to close the loop on this:
I indicated in my FReepmail to you that I would contact one of my US Senators this morning to clarify the question of access to the Capitol building. I did so, and my friend in that Senator’s office confirmed the following.
The US Capital building has been closed to the general public since March 2020 due to Covid-19. It has not been reopened. The Senate and House galleries are only open to legislators and their staff to observe proceedings in the opposite chamber.
This information was disseminated throughout the major news organizations last spring.
In short, the People’s House was not open to the public, and those who were inside, regardless of how they got there, should not have been.
I suggest that contact your own Congressional delegation if you have doubts about my information. My friend is not given to fake news.
