Politico reports that Majority Leader Mitch McConnell held a conference call with Senate Republicans today and he pressed Hawley multiple times to explain his plans to object to the electoral college.
Hawley was not on the conference call.

On January 6th, the Congressional proceedings NEED to open with objections from the House and Senate to ANY acceptance of electors from states utilizing the Dominion voting systems. Dominion voting systems are a national security threat to the USA

Representatives and Senators both have to object to begin debate and present evidence, but to my knowledge, after this takes place they vote.
