FYI Budget Update
-President Trump just invoked the Impoundment Control Act of 1974 while signing the COVID bill, allowing him to redline areas that must be addressed.
-This sends it back to Congress forcing them to 1) repeal 230, 2) cut out the wasteful spending, 3) add $2k.

-This is a virtually unknown law and has taken Congress by surprise.
-It also signals his intent to invoke *other* laws in the coming weeks.

The person who tweeted that about the act either doesn’t know what it says or is lying.
“The Congressional Budget and Impoundment Control Act of 1974 (ICA) reasserted Congress’ power of the purse. Specifically, Title X of the Act – “Impoundment Control” – established procedures to prevent the President and other government officials from unilaterally substituting their own funding decisions for those of the Congress.”
It does no such thing. If Congress doesn’t act within 45
legislative days y doing what Trump wants, he money must be released as in the original bill signed by the President. In other words, if Congress does nothing, the funding in the bill goes through, whether the President likes it or not.

He won’t. 2024 is a long ways away. It’ll be time to move forward to find the next America First agenda leader. The movement is more important than one man.
If you never put your faith in man then the only alternative is to put your faith in government. This makes you no better than a democRAT, which is what you sound like.
You have no idea what Trump has been up to for the last dew weeks and he surely won't hold a press conference to inform you of what his plan is.

Lame. Congress can just ignore it and in 45 days the money is released. They don’t even have to take up his request.
Looks like we get all the pork and a commitment to think about more stimulus and a fake promise to take up section 230. Yawn
Looks like its like a fiscal version of the war powers act.
“You can go to war without us... but only if you tell us what’s going on within the next X days”...
In this case: “You can decide to not spend money we’ve appropriated... but only if you tell us first that you’re not going to spend it.” No big whoop.
The impact, here... would mean no checks get signed for 45 days... after Nancy just promised the House WOULD VOTE tomorrow to approve the $2000 instead of $600 each ? So, they will have to vote again to make that happen.
They will also have to vote on these other changes to implement them... de-funding the deep state pork pie, etc., or else no checks will get signed before February ? And, if/when they DO vote, again... the clock starts over... and then Trump can just veto it again... unless they DO give him what he wants ? And, if they ignore it and do nothing... no checks get signed.
It’s not like hitting a home run...
It’s more like timing the STEAL to home to win the run...
How you get there might matter to the purists and the game statisticians... but, on the scoreboard, style points on how still doesn’t matter nearly as much as just getting there.
If Pelosi backs out her own side will take off her head ?

In 45 days there is a NEW congress AND they will have to start over again SO it is better to give Americans their $2000.00 and be done with it!! It is now in their laps to take the $2000.00 and just give $600.00!!!
