The air fryer certainly had a dramatic, messy year, but it’s not her fault. All she wanted to do was serve up hot and crispy food in record time, but all the pedants of the world wanted to talk about was how she was “just a small convection oven” that “didn’t really fry anything.”
That may be true, but a small convection oven that heats super quickly and turbo-crisps your food is very valuable, especially if your oven doesn’t have a dang convection setting. (Also, my oven does have a convection setting, and it takes twice as long to get those same, gloriously crispy results). If you end up being the proud owner of a new air fryer this holiday season, you should christen it with one of the following.

That’s the most honest bit of reporting I’ve seen so far in 2020.
I like my fried food the traditional way....slightly greasy but crisp.....
I got one and it’s been emphasized do not use spray Pam in it. Never, ever.
Hey, you can toast a bagel with a hair dryer.
I’ll use it to fry Spam for musubi. 8~)
I know a kid that died huffing PAM when I was a kid so no PAM for me!
My potatoes are well cooked in five or six minutes in the microwave!
I saw a guy on youtube clearing his drive of snow with a blow torch!
They are great for re-heating crispy things like fried chicken and/or french fries. And for heating fish sticks and the like. Beyond that....not that useful, really.

Love my air fryer. Especially breakfast. I bake bacon in the oven, but for pork chops, sausage links & patties the air fryer can’t be beat! I use it for chicken, steaks (yes they turn out 2nd only to grilling), and frozen fries, etc.
You should see what the speed oven we gave our mom can do. It’s a combination toaster oven, convection oven, and microwave. It does the air-frying, microwaving, it even proofs bread!
It has something like 10 different settings and multiple programs for each setting.
The thing is amazing. It does everything but the stirring!

I got one as a gift. It makes the food smell like the inside of a stereo amplifier.
