You can find this fun quotation puzzle, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications. I challenge us with the best ones out there.

The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).

Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated, you’ll be solving them all within a few days. If you’re stumped, take a break and return to it.

PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and how you made out.

You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram ASK THE GROUP FOR HELP!

I suggest printing these out and work them on paper. If you need a little help you can copy and paste it to Hal’s Helper below.

You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper, but I recommend that you do NOT look at the letter counter.

HAL'S CRYPTOGRAM HELPER

One last request. Feel free to post a fun or clever clue, the more tangential to the quotation the better, but please don’t put the actual words of the quote in the clue.

Clue for today’s puzzle. Simply scroll your cursor over the text while left clicking your mouse, and the letters should appear.

Should be quick.

Yep. Lot of three letter words. Choose the most common letter carefully.

Comparatively speaking, I really ‘struggled’ with this one.

I was probably thrown off by ‘spotting’ the line ...should be quick...

Seems I let my guard down when prewarned it will/should be easy BUT if I spot ‘probably difficult’ the gauntlet is thrown down...<: <: <:

Which is why I don’t read the comments prior doing or responding....

It ain’t easy being me.....

I don't read the comment either. It seems like cheating. Reading the comments and viewing the photos later is fun.

Life is good.

Don’t know if you have noticed but I do try and throw in a quip usually unrelated unless one has already solved and it may or may not be relevant....

On occasion ‘two (never 3 yet) great minds may meet’ and they and I express the same or close opinion which is NOT plagiarism as I don’t/haven’t read comments till I am ‘finished’.

As stated earlier, IT ISN’T EASY BEING ME!!!!....<: <: <:

It was quick, maybe a minute and a half.

First word in quotation marks, word after comma, 4th word, 3rd word, 2nd word (after a mistake on the last letter), 1st word, off to the races.

I’m not sure I understand the author’s point. Is she saying, “it’s not witty” or “it shouldn’t be brief?”
