I’ll confess that I didn’t see this one coming. Much of the cable news programming currently blasting across our screens these days is celebrating the arrival of the first COVID vaccines approved for general distribution. People lining up to be the first in their state to receive it are hailed in the press like rock stars. But out in Southern California, there’s one group of people who are choosing to either delay taking the shot or simply declining entirely. Those are the nurses. CBS Los Angeles is reporting that a recent survey conducted by the UCLS Fielding School of Public Health reports that a full two-thirds of the nurses surveyed either said no or at least… not yet.
A number of local healthcare workers have reservations about the COVID-19 vaccine authorized for emergency use, according to a new survey from the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health.
“Two-thirds of the health workers that we surveyed wished to delay vaccination or not get vaccinated,” Dr. Anne Rimoin, the senior author of the study, said Monday.
She said the survey collected data from about 600 workers between mid-September and the end of October.
At least out where I live, healthcare workers are among the first being vaccinated, which kind of makes sense since so many of them are dealing with COVID patients on a daily basis. And at least based on the information being spread around by the media, you would think that these educated individuals would put the most faith in the system that developed and tested these vaccines, right? So what gives with the nurses in California?
A representative for the union covering these nurses was quick to point out that their members are not “anti-vaxxers.” 90% of them reportedly get the flu vaccine every year.

Look again. ETHYLENE glycol is in some antifreezes and is poison. Some of the newer versions don't use it.
Polyethylene glycol (PEG) is used in a number of foods and medical products. It has many uses.
So I was right. We have to take the word of the companies who stand to make trillions. Companies who have been caught lying before and fined for it.

Polyethylene glycol (PEG) is NOT antifreeze. It used in some foods and medical products.
Ethylene glycol is used as antifreeze and it is poison. Many modern antifreezes do not have Ethylene glycol because of that. I had a dog that drank a puddle of water someone drainws out of their radiator. The dog died. It shuts down the kidneys. The antidote is the alcohol in drinks. We didn't know that could have saved the dog's life.
I guess we will find out the real “effective” rate after we see if people with comorbidities are protected by it. I don’t think they were included in the trials.
Per the second-to-last chart from the CDC, we've had significant excess deaths every single week since March. All other causes of death are at or slightly higher than normal numbers, but there's a large number of extra unexpected deaths which doctors around the nation are saying are caused by COVID-19.
What magical world do you live in that you think this is actually about a virus? I really wish I shared your optimism.

The fact that Democrats have chosen to weaponize the situation and use it for political gain and power grabs does NOT change the fact that there is a real virus spreading throughout the population and causing real problems. The Democrats have simply chosen to make the situation worse.

I don't either, but what makes you think the vaccine is going to stop this? There is already chatter about still needing masks and shutdowns even with the vax. Public health has never been the real issue, control has, and they do not want to give up that control. At this point only mass rebellion is going to take that control away from the creepy tyrants. That said, I am all in favor of the vax for those who have been terrified by the media hysteria and think the vax will make them safer.
At some point we either stand on principle or we fall for anything. I don’t care about the statistics. I don’t care about the “experts.” It’s my decision.
As this theater of the absurd unfolds, we’re going to see the true intent of the “pandemic,” and I believe most of us will be standing, arms across our chests, saying “I told you so.”

What will be the side effects, long-term, of these guinea pigs? Also, there hasn’t been enough time to know how babies of pregnant women can be affected by Mom getting the vaccine.
Of course, testing wasn’t adequate. But I’m all for “my body, my choice”, so if people choose to do it, then fine.
Mom is 96 — in the vulnerable demographic — and said she won’t take it.
