Hmmm...not sure I worded that right. They were the ones that didn’t want to override the veto.
My FiL tried to do that a few years ago but he already had dementia and it just made everything more jumbled 😢.
My husband always teases me... every year after I do taxes, I shred papers from 7 years ago. I told him, see this is why I do that lol!
Thanks, my comment was about teacher’s unions. Happy New Year Jenny.
Phew. Scared me for a moment.

That’s what I thought we were doing but as we started going through files, we found sketches and notebooks we definitely want to keep. We’ve been giving him some of it to look at, but his eyes are so bad he can’t see anything even with a magnifying glass.
My MIL was great at labeling photos, but we have pictures that are so old, some are even metal plates from the 1800s... we have no idea who they are. He doesn’t either, but we don’t dare get rid of them!
I’m glad you clarified that because I was pretty dismayed!
Yes! Do NOT get rid of those things. Maybe there will be a way to get images of them and post on a genealogy site.

Yep...
I did notice we have a lot of duplicate/similar photos. I plan to separate them into stacks... one set stays with my FIL, obviously, but the rest we plan to divide up between husband’s siblings. I want to save a photo of each ancestor and make a book for my boys.
Having lost both my parents already, I do think these things are easier to do now, with my FIL’s input, than after he is gone. It is really overwhelming to try to do do this when in the midst of grieving.
My mother in law has about 17 binders of genealogy, it was her passion... I plan at some point to sit down with all these photos and see what I can match.
I hate the fact we can’t correct mistakes in posts; always catch them after they’re submitted!!
Either way, the National Defense Authorization Act is now law.
Maybe try a local historical or genealogy society to see if they would like them? Or the state archives.

BIG NEWS: COUNTERFEIT FULTON COUNTY GEORGIA BALLOTS. On a tip, our operative entered the Fulton County (Atlanta) Warehouse and took this series of photos: THESE ARE FAKE BALLOTS (note the quantity):
On Wednesday afternoon in the Georgia Senate Judiciary voted to have these ballots inspected. What happened next?
Rented Enterprise moving vans pulled up to the warehouse and began loading up. I will post that video promptly.
And then, a shredding company was engaged. They shredded everything. Not just a normal shredding either. They did not shred into long strips, or even tiny confetti: they did military-grade shredding down to tiny spitballs.
The video of the enterprise van is too big for me to upload right here. But trust me, there is a video of enterprise moving vans pulling up at 10 o’clock at night, after the Senate subcommittee voted to investigate the stuff, and they got loaded up.
Oh, I guess I should mention: we grabbed samples of the fake ones.

Lots of pics at link
Good idea. I know somewhere down the road we will want to contact a museum (Smithsonian maybe) about these engineering notes, sketches and patents...
AMEN. GOD’S Will be done in America.
Sometimes our “errors” are funny, though.
They are doing everything they can get away with.
