I’ve grown an affinity for them over the past few years and feel that while they’re know for decades, they are still greatly undervalued and under appreciated as a band especially with their mixture of different musical styles with synthesizers and organs
I like Renegade
The entire Grand Illusion album was great.
Fooling yourself. “Why must you be such an angry young man when your future looks quite bright to me. “
I was young and confused. 20 years old when this song resonated very deeply in my heart and soul. It spoke to me however, and I listened to it and I did refuse to be such an angry young man.
And guess what? My future was indeed quite bright.

Come Sail Away, without question. One of the greatest songs of all time.
To Much Time on My Hands, definitely their best!
Babe is a close second, great keyboard work with the Fender Rhodes keys. Some might say the lyrics were a bit sappy, but I’ve felt that they really groove nicely into the overall performance. Love it!
Suite Madame Blue
“Come Sail Away.”. Power chord heaven.
I actually worked the light board for a Styx concert in the 70’s.
Babe, I’m leaving, I must be on my way
The time is drawing near
My train is going, I see it in your eyes
The love, the need, your tears
But I’ll be lonely without you
And I’ll need your love to see me through
Please believe me, my heart is in your hands
And I’ll be missing you
You know it’s you Babe
Whenever I get weary and I’ve had enough
Feel like giving up
You know it’s you Babe
Giving me the courage and the strength I need
Please believe that it’s true
Babe, I love you
Few days ago I stumbled on Tommy Shaw playing that song with the Cleveland Youth orchestra for a few years back.
From a few years back I mean
I’m not a robot without emotions. I’m not what you see
I’ve come to help you with your problems, so we can be free
I’m not a hero, I’m not the savior, forget what you know
I’m just a man whose circumstances went beyond his control
Beyond my control
We all need control
I need control
Nice pick!

Being a lover of the ocean, I vote for Come Sail Away.
Fast forward to the 3:42 mark to bypass all the rigamarole.
Oh thank you. Thank you for posting that link. I so enjoyed that concert. I’m choking up here, over 42 years has passed since I was an angry young man. Yet realizing then that my future was indeed quite bright I finished my education, got married, been married for 40 years, and raised two wonderful children.
It’s not often that a song directly speaks to your life. But that one did.
