Really? Are the owners of the team MAKING the players participate in related activities? No? Then STFU and work out your contract. Perhaps they can bench him if he is not trying. He still gets paid. But gets humiliated for not being a “player” or “teammate.”

Well as a rule, they are all one foot out of the slums, only due to the fact that they can dribble a basketball. I highly doubt that they can add up a column of numbers or know their multiplication table.
I’m not sure he ever graduated but James Harden went to Arizona State for a cup of coffee. Looking back, all the great ones — Russell, Jones, Bird, Johnson, Heinsohn, Havlicek, etc., went to college and I believe all graduated. The thugocracy was born when the NFL eliminated any college requirement. Today it’s unlikely that more than 20% of any team attended more than two years of college. Thus, you literally have morons chasing morons up and down the court.
