Definitely some excellent choices, but do not forget small local breweries that have only local distribution. The Minneapolis area has a score of smaller brewers producing some quite amazing beers.
An Ale is a beer.... but all beers are ales
I like Sweetwater IPA, local to the area so always fresh. Gotta say a lot of American IPAs are overhopped, like drinking a bottle of Pine-Sol. In my old age I’ve come to appreciate a good Pilsner and Weihenstephaner Pils is right at the top.
Bud Light is like sex in a canoe....it's fu##king close to water.
Shiner bock is my fave
lol
That’s #1 in my house!
Only a barbarian would call ANY ale “best”.
Ales are “dirty” and taste of rubber. Then, to top it off Americans use CASCADE hops, or other lesser hops to overwhelm the palate so that you can’t taste the burnt rubber.
Dumbass Americans think there is only Budwiser (and other American light lagers)...or the formaldehyde like abomination known as American IPA.
Edify yourselves!
The reason American “craft” breweries make IPAs is because they are quick and easy. And they don’t have the skills to make a good lager.
Yes, lagers can be thick and bitter. Dark or light. 8% or 4%.
Primator Maibock sets the standard by which all brewers are measured.
Thanks for the correction. I always thought that there was beer and ale.
I’m happy to see Yuengling on the list, but the people who made the list must not have tasted their Octoberfest.
It is fantastic.
I have a precious few Octoberfests left. Going to pour one as soon as I post this.
El Yummo
I will try “Flight” next time I buy beer. Thanks for the tip!
I’m gonna tell you one thing kid...Andechs.
“Gimme a Bud Light.”
a/k/a “fizzy alcohol water.”
Phoenix has a few quality breweries. Tucson has fewer breweries, but higher quality.
No mention of Anchor Steam? Serious oversight.
Knee Deep Brewing (Auburn, California) and Revision Brewing (Sparks, Nevada) produce truly excellent beers!
George Wendt wrote a book about beer.
A buddy of mine lent it to me.
The first 2/3 were hysterically funny.
But then like a typical Hollywood schmuck he could
not help himself from veering into left-wing
political screeds for the final third.
Apparently some relative of his wife decided to run for office as a REPUBLICAN and it totally triggered him.
Back when my maternal grandparents were immigrating to Colorado to mine coal (it was a step up from what the old country had to offer, they got out just before The Great War) a bunch of Germans emigrated to Mexico.
They gave Mexico excellent beer and that ooom pah ooom pah ooom pah pah pah music.
