NFL ratings among Republican voters have been down through the first three games of the 2020 season, according to a report from Comscore ratings firm, ABC News reported.
The company categorized ratings by political affiliation, discovering that ratings in Republican households dropped 11, 17 and 8 percent across the first three games respectively, according to ABC News.
"These significant viewership changes reinforce the importance of having advanced audience information because media buyers and sellers have to adapt quickly when cultural forces reshape consumer behavior," Comscore Chief Revenue Officer Carol Hinnant said in a news release.
NFL viewership has also seen a decrease among independent voters. Ratings have dropped an average of 5 percent in independent households, and Democratic households have been the only voting group to keep steady ratings, ABC News reported.
The shift in ratings correlates with data from a CBS News/YouGov poll, which showed that 77 percent of Republicans view kneeling during the national anthem at an NFL game as unacceptable. Only 12 percent of Democrats shared the same view, ABC News reported.
President Trump expressed his views on kneeling in August, noting that he would prefer NFL games not to go on if players decline to stand for the anthem.
If they dont stand for the flag and stand strong, I'd be very happy if they didnt open. That being said, I'd love to see them open, he said.

Astros and Rays are on TBS. Atlanta and L.A. are on FS1.
When are they going to make Colin Kaeprnick commisioner?
Ffootball.
These are NOT ‘football games’. They are political indoctrination conferences, with a few uneducated pampered millionaires occasionally tossing a football around. There is little reason to watch them.
Yep - haven’t watched a single snap, pitch, free throw this season.
“Astros and Rays are on TBS. Atlanta and L.A. are on FS1.”
Ironically, if reversed more would be happy.
If Atlanta Braves was on TBS, that is the off the air WTBS that is an Atlanta signal for their locals. And Fox13 in Tampa carrying FS1 would make us with antenna TV happy for the Rays.
Instead Tampa off the air viewers can only watch Braves in action.
Good Bye NFL
I have family that worked in the ad business.
They are counted. It is part of how they charge for ads.
Right now, they are looking at the ratings drop, less traffic in bars, less screens on in bars, and the ad companies are starting to ask “Why are we paying you this much money?”
For ESPN, you are the product, the ad companies are the customer. And they are not happy
