I used to get a number of polling calls every year (we have general elections in Virginia every November). Since my Apple Iphone now displays such calls as “Potential Spam”, I don’t answer them, and as a result I haven’t taken one pollster call this year.

Never. I never answer the phone though, because 75% of my calls are spam/robocalls.

Me either. If the call isn't from someone in my Contact List, I don't answer it, I let it go to voicemail. Maybe once per month someone leaves a voicemail that's not a sales job, if that.

If the pole is done by a female I usually ask are they wearing panties and if so what color they usually hang up.

I've declined several offers over the years. Probably the most amusing was a representative from Gallup. After I turned him down he replied a bit indignantly, "But this is Gallup!"

I did take one last year as they said the poll was about the gas and oil issues in New Mexico so I said sure I’ll try it.

At this point I hung up. (I am not very bright) But I’ve learned to hang up before question #1.

I was polled in August. I believe it was a leftist pollster; not sure. I answered the questions as a die hard conservative would. The last question was who I was going to vote for President. I told them that if my arms and legs were broken I would still crawl thtough 5 miles of broken glass to vote for Trump. They thanked me for my time.

I will only take automated polls where you can use the key pad because other wise they could tell that I'm not a 35 year old Latina.

Thanks to spammers and robocalls, many, many people simply do not answer a call from a number they do not recognize. Additionally, many people are cutting the landline and have a cell phone as their only number. For all practical purposes, cell numbers are unlisted. Seems to me that any poll based upon telephone calls in this environment is automatically inaccurate.
