We moved to GA a month ago. We are still unable to get GA retailers to accept our new address. Every GA retailer still claims we are at our old MA address and denies us our new address. This is driving us bat$hit. We have changed our Address with our credit card but no deal.
Second step is drivers license for which youll have to show proof of residency. Varies by State but a lease or mortgage plus utility bill should do it. If you show GA retailers your GA drivers license with GA address, how can they deny that???

Was wondering if & when the requiring masks to vote would give ammo to the ANTI ID for voter laws.
It is a tailor made argument for them.
My ‘idiots’ snapped a picture of me with my dark sunglasses on (they are prescription and I had been reading something on the form, looked up and followed instructions....)
So now they can’t see my eyes and with a ‘proper’ face covering on ANYONE could use my ID to vote with...
You’re great great grandfather didn’t by chance march with General Sherman or anything?
You mean you used to “paak the kaa and go to the paatie”?
I was stationed at Ft. Devens back in the mid 60’s. Just outside of Ayaa, Mass and not to far from Wista, Mass.
Before my time but my dad was a lobstaman.
Sorry, no. No affiliation with W.T. Sherman.
I have heard that CA & NY are trying to make it difficult for their serfs to move but did not know MA was in on it as well.
The population of Alpharetta was 261 people in 1860. I doubt there was much of a downtown to burn. In fact, it wasn't until the 1960 census that it broke 1000 people.
As another poster asked....DID YOU GET YOUR GA DRIVER’S LICENSE, YET???
We just moved. Did the USPS protocol. Called each credit card and sent change of address notices and used the forms provided on the back of the payment stub. Multiple times.
Lots of problems. People cannot read or do not actually enter the info when they say it is done.
Also, one platform will be fine with a card/address combo while another (Square) will not.
Solution: we use debit cards because the bank is 85 miles away. Why? Because the local bank ignored our attempts to set up accounts and we became annoyed and decided to not change. Between debit card, direct deposit, PayPal and phone for transfers, it is working, for now.
Took 2 tries with voter registration change and while the 2nd one worked by having the municipal clerk walk it into the County Clerk office, it took over 2 weeks and they did make an error adding an initial to my name. I don’t think in this small township it will prevent my voting (and I can vote provisionally and am in a strong GOP area) and I went thru the township clerk, so he can vouch.
Blaming millennials.
I never checked on that...just took her word for it. Thanks.

May as well cover this also. Road tar is Macadam or Blacktop.
As long as We got close to another item Macadam should not be confused with Macadamia Nut, in GA ALL Nut conversations MUST START WITH PEANUTS then You may move on to using or discussing other types of Nuts.
The Southerner's Handbook: A Guide to Living the Good Life
To become a Transplant Southerner takes TIME, Watching, Listening, Learning and Respect for Native by Generations Southerners. We moved to Houston from NJ in 1969 when Dad was transferred there because (IAH) the Intergalactic Airport was about to open. Now they call it Bush A/P. It was 100+ degrees and 20,000% Humidity in July. Not Yankee weather at all I though I was gonna die at 8 years old from the heat and humidity. Always address People with Yes/No Mam or Sir especially if they are older than You are. Useguyz MUST be replace with Y'All or they are gonna look at you and you will never get to convert to Associate Southerner.
Don't freak out about Grits (they are white Polenta served with Butter), Biscuits and Cream Sausage Gravy are a staple Breakfast item. (If I could put it in an IV I would.) And if You ask for Tea it will be a choice of Sweetened or Unsweetened and served in a Mason Jar or a huge glass on ice. If You want Hot Tea You must ask for it as "Hot Tea", if You just ask for Tea at Breakfast and don't specify Hot Tea You WILL be served Iced Tea.
Best of luck to Y'All;)
Ben,
Not every adult in Georgia is registered to vote. If a person is registered to vote in Massghanistan, he cannot be a legal resident of Georgia unless he drops his registration in Massachusetts.
People who have bank accounts out of state are saying their legal residence is out of state. You seem to believe that having investments out of state is a criterion for ignoring Georgia’s (or any other state’s) residency residency requirements. Investments in nonmovable property is irrelevant. People can own land wherever they choose and it does not affect their legal residency. However, people who have brokerage accounts in another state where their brokerage account statements are sent to that other state are stating their legal residence is in that state. Changing the address on a brokerage account is fairly easy.
It is not where the insurance company’s headquarters is that is important. It is where the car/house being insured is registered/located that is. If person has his car registered in Massghanistan and is insuring his house there and does not have property insured in Georgia, that person will, by Georgia law, be considered a resident of Massachusetts regarless of your irrelevant thoughts may be.
I have moved from state to state over the course of my career. It is relatively easy to change one’s residence. There are, however, too many lame brains who believe—notice I did not say think—that all they need to do is drive someplace and that makes them a legal resident of where they park their car. It does not work that way.
Here in Texas we have a lot of people who have purchased home but who have refused to register their vehicles in Texas within 30 days. The police ticket those people. You would not believe the excuses people give me for not registering their vehicles when they appear in court. Only about two thirds of those ticketed show up in court. They receive a $265.00 fine. The other one third are issues a bench warrant and are rounded up by the police. The receive a $265.00 and ten days in jail for contempt of court.
See I think since he's already getting resistance, I'd march right in there with a very heavy bill, and then negotiate from that stronger position.
My wife was a young audit manager with a first year guy from MD on an engagement in rural GA. At the rural breakfast place, he ends his order with and Ill try one of those grits.
Much laughter was had, we still tell the story decades later.
LOL !!! A Grit. Should have asked for a Grime to go with it.
Yep - I’m glad I have the original MS flag and will be really torqued if it gets changed when they give us our “new and unoffensive one”.
We are building a wall soon...
...but we will have a path to legal citizenship :-)
