I don’t like that term limitation, but maybe health/mental capacity testing and limits.

I can’t say I disagree with it either. But if you assume an ulterior motive behind anything the Dems propose, you’ll usually be right. I guess they believe they’ll win the election or will at least be able to steal it. There are two judges who have been on the bench more than 18 years - Thomas and Breyer. Roberts assumed office in 2005 and Alito in 2006, so both would reach 18 years in the next presidential term.

Ahh, I’m pretty sure they need a constitutional Amendment to do that.

Wouldn't that require an amendment, not a bill? That's directly influencing what is supposed to be an equal and independent branch of the government.

according to article 3 of the constitution judges “shall hold their offices during good behavior” good luck with changing the constitution with a bill not an amendment..

“introduce bill limiting U.S. Supreme Court justice terms to just 18 years”

Sure, now that Ruthie’s passed they want to change it!

Pretty sure it would take a constitutional amendment, pretty sure they know it, so this is fluff-fluff for their voters.

I disagree, the change we need at SCOTUS is to let the President remove them with the advice and consent of the Senate.

No way—they just want to erase POTUS gains in getting and keeping the courts focused on constitutional and equal justice/laws.
