Traditional | Sept 23 | Self

Ihave always been under the impression that one of the Jewish faith who passes must be buried within 24 hours ! Especially a New York born Jew

No. Not 24 hours. Traditionally they’re quick about it cause they’re a desert people and things start to smell. But there’s no hard and fast rule about speed of burial. The burial is a formality. Shiva is the important part. And the 1st anniversary.

She didn’t want to be buried until after another president is elected.

Or something.

Jackie Mason, said that the Jews would rush to bury their dead within 24 hrs...Sometimes they were still kicking.

What does being from New York have to do with being Jewish? And their burial ceremonies?.

In my opinion This thread is just a backhand slap at Jews, disguised as concern or interest.

RBG has been mummified for years. Doesn’t make any difference now whether she’s above ground or below, just so long as they don’t bury her sitting on the Supreme Court bench

As absolutely wicked as she was, it is my firm opinion that they will wish that they had buried her, and quickly, as the stench from her corpse, despite embalming, will likely send a clear message to all who think to pay homage to who was one of the most vile beings to ever skulk about this earth.

It is the Jewish High Holidays. A Jew is not buried during the Sabbath, so that means Sunday at the earliest. It is also during a holiday. Not sure if the burial can bypass the second day of Rosh Hashana.

Mason is funny! I do think that attitude may be part of why many (mostly gentiles) used to ask that their bodies be left untouched for 2-3 days after their deaths.

She was but the ground rejected he and spat her out.

Shows you that even common dirt has more sense than the social-democrat-communist party.

It wasn’t ‘convenient’ four months ago. NOW it is because it’s an election gambit. See?

She’s been on ice for months

Burial has been delayed to celebrate RBG’s apotheosis/elevation to the liberal pantheon.

Also as a last-ditch tactic to delay nomination of her successor and thereby possibly run out the clock on a Trump nomination: “You’re so mean; you couldn’t even wait for our beloved Ruthie to be buried!” And so on.

Burying the old girl day one would not have maximized her usefulness.

MLK & RBG — Remember the ladies

This is all just a big mistake. RBG is like the Dread Pirate Roberts on the Princess Bride movie. The most recent person who had taken over the role was suppose to assigned someone else to the post before retiring. Instead after a night on the town with booze and prostitutes he got so drunk that he passed out and his entourage thought he was dead. As you can see from this clip... he is still very much alive and working out for the planned surprise resurrection.

On major festivals, Jewish law forbids Jews to inter their dead on the first day of the holiday, but permits non-Jews to perform the burial on that day. On the second day of such festivals it permits even Jews to do the burying, but other than the actual interment, no other violation of the sanctity of the day is permitted. Because conditions in contemporary society are such that funerals on either day of the festival invariably result in needless transgressions of the law, it is preferable to postpone the funeral until after both days of the holiday.
