Now that it’s made headlines, arsonists will make sure it does burn. Sometimes it is better to keep your mouth shut.

Wasn’t that the observatory that discovered the Martian invasion? Or was that Mt. Palomar?

At one time, the 200-inch reflector at Mt. Wilson was the largest optical telescope in the world, I believe. Is it still there?

It’s a paper weight... Too much light pollution so the loss is negligible.

Not even the Dumbocrats running California would let a historic site like this burn, would they?

There are fire trails throughout those mountains I rode dirt bikes on in my youth. single lane dirt roads carved so as to allow firefighters to get where they might need get to.
Loads of fun.

While it’s been several years since I’ve been to Mt. Wilson, I’ve been to the observatory and it’s difficult to see how it could burn. It’s inside a building and there is plenty of room to surround it with fire equipment, not to mention cutting back the vegetation leaving nothing to burn.

I was there sometime in the 90s and watched Lasarium featuring Pink Floyds Dark Side of the Moon. Mind Blower.

As L.A. grew so did the light pollution, making Mt. Wilson less than ideal for observing space
Don't worry, in just a few short years we will switch to all wind and Solar and will have eliminated Electricity Usage at Night, Then everyone will be able to gaze at the stars anywhere in California

Cant they do the same thing that saved the Reagan library. That place was a goner but they somehow protected it.
