Sharon Stone says that looks matter.
You dont even realize how much [looks] matter until they start to go, Stone, who stars in the new Netflix drama Ratched, a prequel to One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, told the Telegraph in a newly released interview.
Its a big, fat stupid lie if anyone says that they dont, the Beverly Hills resident says.
Thats why Stone, 62, is disciplined about maintaining her trim physique, despite COVID-19 restrictions.

The other Total Recall chick?
“Then you notice her husband is working three jobs to keep her in that lifestyle”
I know plenty like that.
LOL, not the “trifecta”...
Working from home and not commuting is making “looks” less important. The same with office politics. It is hard to suck up online. Maybe we will be meritocracy again.
All true, but that never stopped the local baron or count or Duke from inviting the pretty farmer's daughter in the village to become a “chambermaid “ in the castle (wink wink), or the local rich merchant from marrying the pretty cobbler's daughter or trying to have his wicked way with her.
only black looks matter
We liked her in “Casino”. She and James Woods were quite a pair in that.
To true. It used to be only women that this was expected from.
But instead of ending or condemning that, we expanded it to men. Now grown men and women are expected to look like pre-pubescent children by shaving their privates so they look like children. Men in the 30,40,and 50’s trying to starve themselves so they can achieve the lanky look of teen still growing. Grown women pressured to lose so much weight they no longer have the hips the define their womanhood. It’s all sick.
Her claim to fame was a coochie shot. Her face didn’t help a bit. Maybe looks do matter.
Not impressed .... what are you hiding when wearing a tarp to a interview?
There has always been parts for ugly women in movies, to play the ugly women parts in the script.
The pretty women almost always get the best parts and more money. Hedy Lamar says , “Hello”.
“Now grown men and women are expected to look like pre-pubescent children by shaving their privates so they look like children”.
Men need to shave the balls completely sometimes, I know.
My ‘ego’ talking:
I’m an older folk that is extremely fit. 6”, ~ 190 lbs. 34-36 waist, muscle definition, full head of hair, calluses on my hands, and take zero prescription drugs for the things my peers seem to need - high blood pressure, cholesterol, stamina, sleep, etc..
Folks think I’m much younger then I am, I get tasked with $hit work that can involve extreme physical labor. I’m cool with that.
All my great friends/a-holes (endearing term) I grew up with and have known 50+ years have been giving me $hit/making fun of me for not ‘growing up’ - then they jokingly accuse me of dying my hair (I show them, when I grow a beard - it’s White!
Bottom line - looks matter. It advances folks in the ‘real’ World...
I thought obesity ws a bigger problem in this country than the inverse?
Yes
I met my husband when I had just turned 50, and he, 51. Neither of us have ever looked our age. We’re no movie stars, we’ve both gotten fatter, but we have days where we feel like a couple of teenagers, and are still just as attracted to each other as we were when we married, 18 years ago, this month.
I don’t know...I’ve seen a lot of attractive women with short, fat, or barely average looking men. Yeah, I’d have to be attracted to a guy to date or marry, but there’s a whole lot more to attraction than looks. At least for women. What you DON’T see very often is a very physically attractive man, with a physically UNattractive woman. Almost NEVER.
Same - my wife and I ‘making out’ in the truck... Love bench seats...
Yep. I had a list; top of the list -— Christian. Appearance and money were WAY down on the list. It so happens, my husband is very handsome, and that DID catch my eye, but I would not have wasted more than one or two dates on him, if he had not had many other, finer qualities. I’ve seen a lot of handsome men who wouldn’t have appealed to me at all.
