Recent polls have shown President Trump in a dead heat with Joe Biden in Minnesota, and that was before last weeks rioting, looting and arson in downtown Minneapolis. Friends from around the country have been asking me, is this real? My answer has been, yes it is. Trump lost Minnesota to Hillary Clinton by just a point and a half.
Since then, there is no doubt that Minnesota, outside the Twin Cities metro area, has gotten considerably redder. The conventional wisdom is that this is balanced out by suburban women hating Trump more than they did four years ago. Possibly this is true, but what is the evidence for it? I havent seen any. (What suburban women really hate is crime, rioting, looting and arson, but that is another story.) If the polls show the state more or less tied, they make sense.
But dont take my word for it: the Biden campaign has implicitly confirmed that their polling, too, shows that Minnesota is in play. On Thursday, Bidenannounced that Minnesota and Wisconsin are among the states he plans to visit, in person, after Labor Day.
That is good news if you are a Trump supporter. I dont think there is any reasonable scenario on which Biden can win the election if he loses Minnesota and Wisconsin.

He already has. By not strongly condemning the rioting, burning, assault and battery, and looting he has made his decision widely obvious.
This is one case where silence truly is violence.
THE ONLY state Mondale won! LOL!
Thousands of people from around Minnesota would come to Minneapolis for the weekends. go to the mall, a game, whatever.
Now nobody wants to come dow for fear of getting robbed and shot.
People in Minnesota have had it.
Also, our idiot governor said there is nothing outside the metro area but rocks and cows.

“Biden announced that Minnesota and Wisconsin are among the states he plans to visit, in person, after Labor Day.”
I’ll believe it when I see it with my own lyin’ eyes! ;)
“IIRC the President carried WI by a less than huge margin...”
He won WI by 16,000+ votes over The Beast. I am predicting 2-3 times that over Biden.
If Trump stays on this trajectory, Florida will fall into place.
The biggest key to the election is winning a Midwest state beyond Indiana, Ohio and Iowa.
Do that, and we will have four more years of President Trump.
Biden has or will start advertising in Minnesota, a dead giveaway that he is in trouble there. The good, hardworking people of that beautiful state have had enough and are not going to take it any longer.
271 for Biden. Meant to click blue for New York.
The upper Mississippi Valley has been trending Republican for some time. Four years ago, Iowa was a surprisingly easy win. Wisconsin an upset. And, Minnesota, the closest of the states we lost. This year, I think we pick up Minnesota and its Senate seat.
If NY is in danger of going Trump. Pennsylvania & Florida already have !
The fact that Biden isn’t going to FL shows that Trump has a comfortable lead. FL won’t be an issue this election.
I think we take Pa, low black turnout for Biden
Ummm ... Biden has not been going anywhere for months. I would not assume Florida is safe by a long shot.
You don’t know what you are talking about. No way Biden wins FL if Hillary couldn’t. Take your idiot map over to the DU.
I can't imagine any better way to lose this election than the insulting attitude you're displaying.
One can analyze polls, one can point out their SPECIFIC inaccuracies, but to yell at a poster - for putting up an electoral map that shows Trump at risk - is rude and counterproductive (to put it extremely mildly).
I hear Ed Rollins ,who ran Reagan’s campaign, say that they pretty much ceded MN. to Mondale and he thinks they could have won that too.
There will be twenty people all party people..and wearing masks..
Like Hillary rallies
Minnesota DFL has perfected art of stealing close elections. Trump has to win bigly for them not steal it.
