COVID-19’s toll on Latinx Americans shows the pandemic isn’t a ‘great equalizer’

Latinx workers have endured worse economic outcomes from the pandemic than white workers due to a lack of remote-work access, steep job losses and pre-existing wage and health-care disparities, a new report says.

The virus’s economic impact fell particularly hard on Latina workers, who were overrepresented in the industries most devastated by COVID-19-induced shutdowns, according to the analysis by the Economic Policy Institute, a left-leaning think tank.

If you’re white, other people’s behavior is YOUR responsibility.

Gender-neutral word for people of Latin American descent who can’t figure out if they are men or women.

“Latinx” is a red flag that the author has an agenda to push, beyond just vandalizing the Spanish language. No need to read past it.

98 Percent Of Latinos Don’t Want To Be Called ‘Latinx’

Despite efforts by woke media members, presidential candidates, and social activists, a new nationwide poll reveals Hispanic people reject the made-up word “Latinx” with near unanimity.

A group of pollsters at the progressive ThinkNow Research conducted a national survey of Latinos to discover Hispanic sentiment toward the term “Latinx.” Respondents were presented with seven of the most popular terms used to describe their particular demographic and were asked, “Which of these names do you prefer to describe your ethnicity?” The terms included Hispanic, Latino/Latina, Chicano/Chicana, Latinx, American, my country of origin, (i.e. Cuban, Mexican, Puerto Rican, etc.), and my country of origin + American (i.e. Cuban-American, Mexican-American, etc.). The poll’s 508-person sample size demographically represented census data, including a margin of error of ± 5 percent.

Ninety-eight percent of respondents indicated they prefer a term other than “Latinx” to denote their ethnicity, which left only 2 percent preferring Latinx, making it the least-preferred term for Hispanic people among Hispanics themselves.

In the Spanish language all nouns have gender (people do not have gender, people have sex). The politically correct crowd wants to change that entire language. I do not think that the Spanish speaking people in my area are going to go along with this “caca” (not “cacx”)

Most Hispanics are Caucasian-Caucasian is one of the 3 races of humans-Caucasian, Black and Asian-Hispanic is an ethnic group-just like Italian, German, Japanese, African, etc. This Hispanic/Latina really is tired of this Hispanic-is-a-race sh*it-it is NOT a race...

“Latinx is nothing but grammatically incorrect Spanish.”

I would guess that the percentage of Latin Americans that would refer to themselves as “Latinx” is negligible. As such, the label is a cultural affront, but such matters don’t seem to be of consequence to Marxists.

Right you are-we are very family oriented and are not going to miss out on spending time with family-and close friends, or wearing a useless mask while grocery shopping, visiting, etc that makes us look like we’re about to commit a crime instead of just going about our normal routine. Most of the masked people I see shopping in this rural area are neighbors who are known to be WASPs/Anglos in ancestry-not Hispanic/Latino...

When I go shopping, most people of all appearances are wearing masks. However, when my Spanish choir members come over, nobody is.

The masked people here have been more WASP from the gitgo-but over the last few weeks, fewer people overall are wearing masks-it has never been asked for by any of the businesses, and isn’t now-so there were never even half of the people masked-we aren’t exactly a crowded place-maybe 20,000 people in the entire county...
