If I understand what I am reading, Millie is losing her kids over a $50 *cellphone*??!!

She declined to press charges but they have arrested her anyway I believe.
I think the grandmother filed charges then dropped them..All over a 50.00 cell phone...I can only guess what MIllie has gone through thanks to her mom....
The state used the charges against Millie anyway,even though the mom asked for them to be dropped..WHY FILE THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE?????????

If there is a lesson to be learned from this, it should be, in your intercourse between others, never ever involve the police and never confide in the Police. Both or either can and will hurt you very badly in the future. The police are not your friend. Not even the defunded ones.

I could be wrong, but I would say she involved the Police in her and Millie’s dispute. There is a lot of truth and wisdom in the saying:”No matter how bad things are, involving the police only makes it worse”.
I think she royally pissed someone in a high position of power off. And/or embarrassed them.
