What is it with teachers...
my 7th grade choral teacher had everyone, one at a time, go up to the piano, he played a line out of a song and then we had to sing it with no accompaniment, his response to me was “if I were you I’d go back and sit down and never try to sing again”
I NEVER FORGOT THAT. (I was in humiliated in front of 30 students in the class)
When I read his obituary 30+ years later I felt a sense of relief.

When you’re born in the summer and you’re really bright, it means you’re smarter than the kids around you, but somewhat smaller and less mature. It’s a bad combination and school was not a lot of fun for me.
