Tonight I am reflecting on conversation I had with a group of people, most of them young.
Two points stood out to me - they believe that Covid-19 is the most dangerous, deadly and contagious virus unlike any seen in the history of the U.S. before. Others standing around were tepid or agreed with this statement.
The last few in the car before we dropped them off said pro-riot comments. They waited for mine and laughed in the silence that followed - gave each other sidelong looks. They are sure I’m horribly lost and behind the times.
This tells me that they have no concept of the importance of the peaceful transfer of power. I’m older so I watched countries in Africa go through one brutal coup after another. But now the MSM hides all that so many think if you can’t get what you want (they want racial justice) you take it with riots.
They also have no concept of how their quality of life could collapse - how they could end up living lifestyles unrecognizable to them in short order if they really help bring about the collapse of the will of the people to be ruled by law.
These young are otherwise intelligent, but their intelligence exists only in permitted trains of thought - those train tracks were laid down in their school and college and so now they are free to think approved thoughts.
For example, they approve the idea that those resisting lockdown or masks are evil and must be met with “swift justice” for endangering the lives of others so recklessly.
I admit I am surprised how well indoctrination has convinced normal people against medical evidence, or even the evidence of their owns lives, that Covid-19 must never be risked, ever. Hard to intercept their thinking when I recall how Facebook and Twitter ran psych studies to determine how best to make people feel they can’t turn their phone off or engage in other activity without constantly connecting to the hive.
Praying tonight for those indoctrinated, and for the rest who don’t know how to awaken them (me, for example). Facts don’t matter because the Hive has told them what to believe. From their perspective - the truth we try to share just emerges from a competing hive that wants to hurt them.
I think this vivid pathology hinders the will to protest obvious abuses - maybe people feel their aunt, neighbor, daughter are likely to become unhinged demanding to know why you want them dead.

The scary part of this is that these are the recent and current graduates of the service academies - the leaders of tomorrow's American military. They need purging.

I’ve noticed a similar behavior by young people posting on a local Facebook site, i.e. “wear your damn mask and shut up, this is IMPORTANT!!!”
Here’s what I think is going:
1. They (16-40 year olds) “own” this pandemic. It happened on their watch, and just as we all have fondest memories of the music that was popular in our teenage years, this pandemic has imprinted on them. In their still-not-fully-formed-minds, it’s impacted THEM the most because it interrupted THEIR education, THEIR sports, THEIR shopping, THEIR activities with friends, etc. They are convinced they are the biggest victims of covid-19.
2. The pandemic and overreaching rules by out of control public officials have given them the power they’ve lusted for over paarents, grandparents, and “boomers” in general. Now they can lecture and shame their elders with impunity because SCIENCE! Since they are the biggest victims, and since they know everything (as we all did at that age!) they see these rules as absolute, black/white, right/wrong and they know the force of law is behind them speaking out about it. It’s a power trip like no generation has ever had before. They can go up an tell a cop FU right in his face, or even join in a little BLM (burn, loot, mayhem) and not get in trouble. Being more-less unaffected by the virus and pumped up on that kind of internal high, they’re on a power trip that Hillary would envy.

I was shocked that my daughter and youngest grand daughter were not only ok with masks, but thought they probably did some good. When I disagreed, and said I wouldn’t go shopping at any store that required a mask, my grand daughter said it was unbelievable that I would be so negligent toward others.
Mind you, she’s 16 and daughter is 40 and neither one was wearing a mask in the car for our 1.6 hr. trip. Wish I’d have been awake enough to ask them how come they weren’t protecting the elderly (me).
Regarding a next step—how about prayer groups in the public square? No masks and lots of gospel songs between prayers. Just brainstorming. Like Christmas carols in summer time? Or go to the courthouse and walk around it singing and praying like they did for Jericho?
I ain’t too good a figuring this kinda stuff out. And so far no Devine inspiration is apparent.
