It concludes that lithium’s “protective” abilities could be further tested by “randomised community trials of lithium supplementation of the water supply” in communities with high prevalence of mental health conditions and risk of suicide.
Deliberately lacing the water supply with a mind-altering chemical in some zones might seem like something out of a science fiction novel [duh], but the authors of the report...think it’s an idea worth experimenting.

Unfortunately, the evidence shows that the isolation and economic stress caused by COVID-19 may well exacerbate this trend and lead to rise in suicides.
“In these unprecedented times of COVID-19 pandemic and the consequent increase in the incidence of mental health conditions, accessing ways to improve community mental health and reduce the incidence of anxiety, depression and suicide is ever more important,” said Prof Memon.

Lithium is prescribed for bipolar mood disorder, “manic -depressive psychosis” primarily. Sometimes it helps with schizophrenic people showing manic symptoms. Not really used much for just depression.

It occurs naturally in most water supplies and food crops. Suicide rates have been shown to be higher in areas with less natural lithium

The Soviets were the best at aerosols to control people. LSD, Fentanyl, and a bunch of really mess you up narcotics. They were made in a form for crowd control. One minute you’re protesting vodka prices and the next you are laid out talking to hooka smoking caterpillars for days. They just send in the cops to pick up the tripping anesthetized bodies and toss em wherever the bosses tell you to. Behind bars, in a detox or hospital, or in the local rivers with fast moving water.
Actually there is no better or effective drug available for individuals who have serious suicidal ideation. Lithium as a drug when prescribed wisely is very useful in treating such patients. Suicide ruins the lives of many of knew and loved the unfortunate individual. Have seen whole families destroyed .

I was on Lithium for a while. Messed up my stomach REALLY bad, and had next to zero theraputic effect.
