Shameless Vanity! I Need to Bring Monty Home From British Columbia. Any Ideas of How a Dog Can Hitch His Way Across the Country??
This pup is trying to get to New England to live with me. I know that sometimes people will let a pup hitch a ride to his new home. This is a 6 year old well behaved work dog and I am wondering whether anyone knows of a cross country driver, or group that might get him near New England or New York State. He is now in BC WAY up near Dawson's Creek which must be cold and NORTH. We are working on trying to get him into the States and over the border.
I know this is a long shot, but thought I would ask.

From BC I would expect the cost would be double. You will absolutely need a heath certificate. A canine coming from Canada MAY need to be quarantined. I have shipped dogs to foreign countries as a far away as the Philippians for $1100. However, I have never imported a dog. Your breeder friend should know this.

Have them let the dog out. They seem to find their owners from almost anywhere, according to news stories.
Seriously, you may need him to go through quarantine reentering the US. I know that happens with animals from south of the border.

put dark glasses on him and have him walk next to someone in an aisle seat... as his guide human... have him wear a mask on the plane though so he is not hassled by the Chihuahuas.

So far what I understant is that dogs coming in from Canada are not a problem.
I willing to be surprised though.

Or, tag him with a “#DLM” protest placard and he/she can have anything they want for free.

Lots of rescue organizations have teams of people who can transport a dog anywhere from a hundred miles to 500. Don't give up. And please don't put an ad on Craigslist as someone suggested. That could be (and has been for some dogs) a disaster. Just the times we live in.

He’s a beauty! Bernese Mountain Dog. They are so gorgeous. Good for you. Good Luck!
To: LibertyWoman
He looks like a BMD but he is actually an English Shepherd. they are smaller. Both great breeds.

For what it's worth, I'm in western Washington State, approx. 50 miles dead north of Seattle.
Would offer to go into Canada to pick him up, but the "Border Crossing Electronic Sign's" say crossing(s) close to Non Essential Personal
Maybe someone could bring him to the Peace Arch Tax-Free Stores, at the border between "Blaine Washington State, & Canada?"
Will check for any & all replies, @ 9:00 P.M. West Coast Time.
Just leaving my home now, Stanwood Wa., going up to Bellingham, Wa. approx. 25 miles or less to the Canadian Border.
