First thing I said to my daughter was that, although some people think Texans talk funny, Wisconsinites REALLY DO talk funny. Come to find out, there’s lots of videos out there about that fact. We had fun watching them.

LOL..I worked my 10 hours one day and there had been a big snow fall and sure enough my work didn't let us out early. So I get in my old Ford Ranger truck and if you know anything about driving a truck on slick roads they like nothing better than to fishtail. I had gone to Home Depot a couple days before and had them put 20 concrete blocks in the back for weight. Advise from the garage family. Well, my BIL had worked on my truck but the idling was fast. Not really a problem but in icy snow conditions its a bummer.
I'm in the truck and there's a down hill ahead and then an up hill on the stretch leading to the main road I knew would be cleared. For the life of me I couldn't get my truck to slow down the idle. I'm all over the road trying to get some control. People in back have stopped before the down hill.(saw this in my rear view window) People coming toward me had stopped almost to the main road seeing me ahead of them.
I'm sure they were taking bets among themselves that any time I'll be no problem. Its off the road this crazy truck driver will end. And I'm actually sideways at one point. Not even to the up hill spot..LOL
I don't know to this day how I kept my cool and got the truck straight again and conquered the hill. All in low gear and fast idling. My BIL fix the idling but I had to get through the laughing. Weird humor the guys have out there.

Having beautiful seasons. And amazing flowers and birds. Noting is more beautiful than snow falling and the quiet.

Seattle:
The councils Budget Committee was considering specific amendments to the police departments budget when it took several votes, chief among them were two measures by Councilwoman Kshama Sawant: one of the amendments would have immediately chopped 50 percent of the departments budget while a second measure would have slashed funding to the agency starting in November
After rejecting the pair of Sawant ordinances to slash the police budget by 50 percent, the council did approve measures to trip the pay of 13 high-ranking police officers, a measure that Sawant said would save about $500,000 this year.
Chief Bests lawyer called the vote retaliation:
She and Jenny Durkan gave a press conference where they were critical of the council. In my view, this was retaliation because as soon as they did that, the council in a vote that was not publicized, that was not on the agenda publicly voted to reduce her salary. This is the first black female police chief in the country. Her salary was reduced to $100,000 less than a white woman chiefs salary, namely Kathleen OToole.

He ended up being in the cold at the end. I haven't seen the movie in years. Only wanted to watch it the one time.

That’s a good story. I forgot about needing to put extra weight in the back. In our town people would put bags of sand or kitty litter. It would add weight & if you got stuck, you could pour it out under the tires for traction. Dual purpose.
NIKK..A very informative thread by Heshmat Beirut/Lebanon-Aug.8th.

I was taking the advise of the guys. AND its hard to have extra litter when you have cats..LOL Yes people do do that and also put lots of snow in the back for weight.

Can we send ANTIFA there, since they like protests so much?

I know some people like it, but to me everything about the cold is a complete hassle.

Hi, Dolly!
Were doing great here, except that I miss my aunts and my little Lucy.
The garden is in a continual struggle with the deer, but holding its own. Its worth it for the flowers.
In addition to the two bathroom vanities who now think they belong permanently in the dining room, we now have (in huge boxes) a toilet and a bathtub on the porch! Lol!
Finally, finally our contractor will start on demo either next Saturday or the following one. Once he gets started it will be 4-6 weeks until he finishes. (Im going to say 6-10 weeks!)
Ive missed my TFT family but life happens... and death, too.
Glad things are going well for you. :-)

So what did @realDonaldTrump mean by this?
Trump is an absolutely brilliant actor.
In a very narrow sense:
He uses his speech patterns to confuse his enemies, to warn his enemies, and to deceive his enemies.
You've heard that Trump "meanders" when he speaks.
WRONG.
I've never seen somebody more in control of what he says.
I have a vague memory of SOMEONE--a clown, or a movie physical comedian, or a stage performer--staggering all over the place, tripping, losing his balance.
He was actually performing a juggling feat of astonishing skill.
It was similar to THIS, but much more frenetic.
And Ed Sullivan cut out the best part:
He set up a bunch of raw eggs on a tray over empty glasses, and he knocked the tray out from under them with two pool cues on a cue rack or bridge.
The eggs fell in the glass just before the bowls and plates stopped spinning.
Before the eggs fell (left) and after (right).
He also flipped lemon slices into these glasses with the spoons.
The slices were on the spoon handles. He pounded the simultaneously spoons with a pool cue, launched the slices, ran back and got everything spinning again, and then flipped the spoons into the glasses.
I saw a similar act, but the guy was tripping and slipping and falling as he did all this stuff.
He seemed totally out of control, but he was IN TOTAL CONTROL.
Trump is the same verbally.
We have to look at the transcript of his remarks.
"So I have a lot of enemies out there. This may be the last time youll see me for a while. A lot of very, very rich enemies, but they are not happy with what Im doing. But I figure we have one chance to do it, and no other President is going to do what I do."
"No other President would do a favored nations, a rebate, a buy from other nations at much less cost. Nobody. And there are a lot of unhappy people, and theyre very rich people, and theyre very unhappy."
He's NOT saying that he has so many enemies that he's going into hiding.
He's saying THIS:
"Since I probably won't be here to talk to you in person for a while, I'm giving you the straight dope, out of my own mouth. My enemies are rich and angry. I'm having an impact."
BUT.
He chose to say in a way that was confusing.
He put his enemies on notice, AND he made his supporters oppose his enemies even more.
Absolutely brilliant tactic.
Seemingly off the cuff.
Trump NEVER speaks off the cuff. He PRETENDS to.
He has a mind like a computer.
Trump is benign, but Orson Welles played an identical-but-villainous character in his masterpiece Touch of Evil.
Detective Hank Quinlin.
He always seems distracted, as if he's not listening, and he's says bizarre things.
And then you realize that he MISSED NOTHING, and everything he said was significant.
It's an incredible performance.
Ambiguity is one of the most powerful weapons a person can have.
Trump's unclear statements serve many, MANY purposes.
YES, he is that smart.
And he did a press conference TODAY, so he's not going into hiding.
It was a SURPRISE press conference, and he invited in supporters.
The press was caught flatfooted.
Journalists are now what are called "straight men."
They feed the star lines that the star uses to shine.
Straight men have no personality.
Zeppo Marx.
His straight-man act was a hindrance, so he left early on.
The only comedian who was HIS OWN straight man was Buster Keaton.
The other comic actors were outrageous clowns.
Keaton never smiled, and he REACTED to others.
He was a phenomenal athlete who used no camera tricks.
THIS IS REAL.
This is probably my favorite stunt.
A total illusion that actually happened.
He defied all the laws of biology and physics to do it.
TRUMP IS THE SAME.
He defies all natural laws in his relentless pursuit of the rule of law.
AND.
He is FAR more protected than you'll ever know.
He has visible close protection and invisible close protection.
The visible close protection moves him to safety as quickly as possible.
The invisible close protection is there to neutralize the threat.
That's all. Of course I won't tell you what kinds of weapons and communications gear they have, but Trump is SAFE.
SO:
What sounded like a warning WAS a warning, but only in this sense:
Get ready, because they're going down.
It was a warning to us and a warning to THEM.
Remember how he expressed good wishes toward Ghislaine Maxwell?
DO YOU KNOW WHAT HE MEANT?
That pathetic buffoon from Axios said, "HOW could you wish her well? Her partner died in prison!"
And Trump said, "That's why I wished he well."
Everybody thought he was SUPPORTING her.
Nope.
He was saying, "Good luck, kid. You're sure going to need it."
It's like Ash the android in Alien wishing the crew of the Nostromo well again the monster.
He was actually saying, "You're all going to die."
TRUST THE TRUMP.
HE knows not only what HE'S doing but what EVERYBODY ELSE is doing.
He's smarter than all Democrats put together.
This is who he's up against.
Biden's going to try the hysterical laughter schtick again during the debates.
The reason it didn't matter before was that neither Biden nor Paul Ryan mattered.
They were nonentities.
Biden's repulsive performance was just a sideshow.
THIS TIME he's going to try it with Trump. In presidential debates.
I wish him well.
(See what I did there?)
Besides...
******************
Donald Trump Jr.
He definitively said that he was tested and even said constantly tested, what changed?
Which time was Biden out right lying?
Maybe he just cant remember if he took a cognitive test or not?
************************
Biden's people said he meant he was tested by "being on the campaign trail."
Can you spot the big, fat, glaring hole in that argument?
Yup.
HE HASN'T BEEN ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL.
Biden's going to go bananas during the debates.
He's going to laugh and laugh and laugh, and then he's going to start screaming and spewing profanity.
It's going to be ghastly.
But hey, this is the road the Democrats have chosen. I don't feel sorry for any of them.
Not even Biden.
END

They like to destroy a good country and cause division..that wouldn’t be much of a challenge for them.
