Japan Offers Huge Subsidies to Companies Willing to Quit China

Japan is offering financial incentives to its companies willing to divest from China. Tokyo has “offered a group of 87 companies subsidies totaling US$653 million to expand production at home and in Southeast Asia,” Hong Kong newspaper the South China Morning Post reported on Wednesday. China is getting increasingly worried “as Japan bankrolls exodus of firms,” the daily added.

The move is significant since Japan is China’s second biggest trading partner after the United States, importing $169 billion worth of Chinese goods in 2019.

The Japanese initiative comes amid incursions by Chinese navy near a group of Japan-controlled islands in recent weeks. “The repeated activities are extremely serious,” a Japanese government spokesman said on July 22. “We will respond to the Chinese side calmly based on our resolute stance.” Beijing has undertaken several such armed incursions against its Asian neighbors in recent months.

The moves towards decoupling the Japanese economy from Communist China coincide with similar developments in the United States. President Donald Trump has suggested decoupling the U.S. economy from China in the wake of the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic. Washington “certainly does maintain a policy option, under various conditions, of a complete decoupling from China,” he tweeted in June.

The U.S. Commerce Department has suggested strategies including tax incentives and re-shoring subsidies to bring back American companies home, news reports say. The Trump administration is also encouraging U.S. allies to remove China’s involvement in their critical infrastructure and technologies.

... looks like Japan isn’t waiting for Biden to fix everything.

On Wednesday, while attempting to explain how he’d handle China, Biden just started rambling nonsensical gibberish. “The way Trump–the way China will respond is when we gather the rest of the world that in fact [unintelligible] in in fr- in in in in open trade and making sure that we’re in a position that the world uh that that we deal with WHO the right way that in fact that’s when things begin to change, that when China’s behavior is going to change.”

I’ve always been that way. Cities are nice to visit, but wouldn’t want to live there. Too bad, agenda 21.

The Libtards have been social engineering us for decades to live in their city utopias.

LA has been working for decades, especially the last 10 to build huge apartment/condo buildings downtown. They have tried to build & expand public transportation. Limit parking or charge huge parking fees. Fine immediately after the meter runs out. In the last few years they have started the “road diet” where they take away car lanes & turn them into bicycle lanes. As if anybody is going to ride a bike 20 miles each way to work & pick their kids up & carry them on a bike.

Of course, all this works out best if you don’t have any children - population control, don’tcha know...

I’m sure attitudes will change, but this will put a halt to their Utopia for a while.

Cuomo begging to return to NYC yesterday....I’m sure he will come up with some way to tax those working remotely or some other punitive measures.

People who consider themselves “peaceful protesters“ who are close enough to the rioters to get some of the colored spray on themselves are actually giving cover to the rioters. They are impeding the access of law-enforcement to stop the rioters. They are culpable in some way. I don’t know if there would be a legal term for it but it is definitely morally wrong

“Oops! Poll Workers at Nine Arizona Voting Sites Forgot to Deliver Results”

FTA:Arizona’s primary election was Tuesday, but voters and candidates still don’t know the results in some of the most contentious races. That’s partially because poll workers at nine vote centers “forgot” to retrieve the data packs holding the results information.

According to the Arizona Republic, each of the state’s 99 voting centers were equipped with two tabulators. After voters filled out their ballots, they fed them into the machines, which counted the results. The information was stored on memory packs in the machines.

But at nine centers, poll workers failed to pick up these packs before they headed back to election headquarters, says Maricopa County Elections Department Spokesperson Megan Gilbertson. The votes were tabulated but not uploaded.
Gilbertson said the packs are stored in locked, tamper-proof compartments inside the machines. On Wednesday morning, a bipartisan team of poll workers retrieved the data packs to bring them back to headquarters for processing.

The memory packs account for some 3,000 votes. That could make a difference in some of the tightest races in the state that have yet to be called. Currently, the race for Maricopa County sheriff is neck-and-neck, with Jerry Sheridan leading legendary former Sheriff Joe Arpaio by only 572 votes. Nancy Barto and Heather Carter are similarly battling it out for state senate, with Barto leading 51.6% to Carter’s 48.4%. Hundreds of thousands of dollars have poured in from liberal out-of-state PACs to elect Carter, a moderate Republican, making their race arguably the nastiest and most closely-watched of the cycle.

“Oops! Poll Workers at Nine Arizona Voting Sites Forgot to Deliver Results”

Now that they know how many votes they need, they suddenly remembered to deliver just the right number of results.

Probably a good thing to just stay put for the time being.

I bet the prices are sky high with everyone trying to move out of the cities.

I was hoping the article would tell what districts but, of course, it didn’t.

The last 2 elections we are told to put our ballots into a red box that is similar to a cooler.

I asked about this the last time, how do I know my ballot gets counted?

The guy was indignant that I would even ask.
