School not reopening and keeping kids "safe"

My cousin, who is a chicago public school teacher responded to this article that was titled, Schools are not reopening in the fall, time to admit it and focus on making e-learning better.

His response was, "This article offers a good idea for what we should be doing right now to prepare for a better learning experience for the students while keeping everyone safe".

I am so sick of this "safe" crap. He has three kids. Does he keep his kids "safe" from every damn thing that life throws at them 24/7? Only when the virus hit its all about being "safe" Not 6 months ago it never crossed anyone's mind.

Saw some chatter from the school super here in Washoe County NV yesterday about no school in the fall. Guess they will have a meeting next Tuesday for a final decision.

What will these teachers say when their car is broken down and the repair shops say “we decided it wasn’t safe?”

If school doesn’t open, don’t pay a damn one of them a penny! They get more time off than anyone in existence and a taxpayer funded retirement. They can all kiss my a#$

Rebate the hefty school taxes.

Tell him that if public schools are going to focus on “e-learning” they will FAIL. No bloated government bureaucracy will ever be able to compete head-to-head with the internet and the vastness of what others have made available on it.

If government and their unions so blithely abandon schools and education for “on line” then its only a very small next step for any parent with half a brain to say “hang on - if you are going to force me to basically home school over the internet - why do I even need a government school for that?”

It merely shows how stupid and bureacratically blind most public school administrators are.

When my mother heard that one of my friends had measles or chickenpox she would send us over there to play. Herd immunity in action sixty five years or so ago.

"e-learning"

Close down all the fricking schools then, and return everyone's tax money!!!!

You can "e-learn" from any youtube type of video or multi-media service (not advocating for youtube here) and you don't need teachers, brick and mortar schools, buses, or any of that crap.

along with not paying them a penny

The whole thing is ridiculous, play ball in full stadiums, open all businesses as normal, and send the kids to school. In other words, live like normal people, Americans aren’t afraid of their shadows.

It is time for him to decide to moved to a different place. One where sanity is still possible to pursue.

One where Children can go to school, in spite of pure ComDem Insanity!

It could be somewhere in fly over country in IL. Or another state where there is no State income tax and still some sane people.

We need to keep kids safe from the indoctrination they get from public schools.

Mega-dittos and Amen, brethren. When the public school is nothing but a factory for disinformation, not even keeping up with the basics of reading comprehension, daily mathematics problems, or ability to set coherent statements down in legible form, then the failure is nearly complete anyway.

Alternative strategies of learning the essentials of maintaining a viable society, and to boost the economic future for all involved, may have to be developed on the run, so to speak. Otherwise, we revert to a feral state, little better than medieval serfs or warrior bands.

Home schooling is far from optimal for most parents, and there seems to be vast resistance to maintaining the discipline necessary for the extension of e-schooling to every child that should, must have it. And it is much more than a matter of mere money, providing terminals for the prospective student to study the basics of modern civilization. There has to be dedicated guidance, impossible to impose on reluctant students without physical presence of someone, anybody, to identify and herd the recalcitrants and truants back to their immediate duty and responsibility.

And that’s why I wonder about the insistence of the POTUS that the schools that many consider to be indoctrination centers must reopen.

Mike Pence made a comment about schools needing to be open because they provide “social services”.

A pandering to the “soccer moms” in an election year?

The working soccer Moms and the welfare mothers will all lose their free babysitting. I can’t believe they will acquiesce without any pushback.

These schools are social justice centers teaching hate America disinformation. Good riddance.

Gosh, that’s even worse than CERTIFIED IDIOT Gov Inslee in WA, who is allowing younger kids to attend classes because they basically don’t get the virus and staying home is causing depression. Older kids can attend, I think, a couple of days a week, otherwise it’s learning from home. Highschool is not open.

What could possibly go wrong?

Teachers have run the greatest scam in American history...drawing billions in pay for not working. Their communist mentors at “Redfored” must be overjoyed!

Today I drove down a remote country road between two towns of no more than a few thousand people each. There are a few homes, all on several acres each. There were no other cars. Ahead of me a man was walking, wearing a mask. A mile further a crew of two was clearing out a ditch; both wearing masks. It’s about 90 degrees today, with humidity at about 80%.

These people are demonstrating a type of hysteria. I am more frightened by people acting crazy by wearing masks outside when they are miles from others than I am by a virus.

All they care about is keeping the terrified teachers safe.   Teachers will not be closed up in the same room with thirty potential carriers that will only give the children runny noses, but will give the older hags and coots a dirt nap through eternity.

It's all about them, not the children.

They will have their baby sitter. We grandmothers are going be the one’s having to deal with the little darlings. I just can’t wait to start trying to get little miss “I can google it if I need to know it” to pay attention to the new on line school mess.
