Trump should forgive student debt
Freep | 07/13/2020 | CharlesOconnell

Many people find such a suggestion outrageous. But after pulling the rug from under Dems on Immigration, Trump can ensure the loyalty of millions of beleaguered graduate debt owers who will never own a home & delay getting married, and wrest them away from the Bernie/AOC camp. Yes, it's not good budgeting, but consider that the secret owners of the Federal Reserve create monies out of nothing, loan it to the Federal Govt, then recoup it back thru making American workers Tax Plantation N-Words for 40% of their time. The whole system is fantastic. Watch Trump on student loan forgiveness.

Trump does not spend money to buy votes like Democrats. It’s not his money.

The #1 BIG NO is the $600 a week unemployment as that hurts the recovery. After that, if something is needed, I’d hold my nose.

He can get the money by raiding university endowments for back taxes.

Obama used tax payer money to enrichen universities. Let them give it back.

Still against forgiving any of it. Would rather students should be allowed to sue former universities for price gouging and fraud.

"Trump can ensure the loyalty of millions of beleaguered graduate debt owners..."

These people would NEVER vote for Trump, no matter what he did.

They would just as soon run over their grandmother with a Prius than vote Trump.

“First eliminate all future student loan guarantees, then we’ll talk about it.”

I think you will find that most of this debt is for courses that include the word “studies.” The debt is not for degrees that offer the recipient a decent job. I recall listening to a girl with piercings and a partially shaved head complain about the several hundred thousand in debt she got for her degree in gender studies. No one would hire her.

If you listen to the arguments coming from many of the college-age protesters and cancel culturalists, worthless is probably a pretty accurate valuation.

Very little in life that is given to one is cherished as opposed to something you work for.

It’d really piss off everyone who actually paid for college.

Absolutely not. He will just make it easier for them to be indoctrinated.

Nope - there’s a number of reasons why he’s right on DACA - the government set them up and made their presence here de facto...but we don’t need folks here parroting the guy on TV saying, “Don’t let the credit card companies trick you into thinking you have to pay them back...”

Yes but tie it to getting the government out of student loans.

Unsecured loans generally have higher interest rates due to being more riskier and higher default rates.

If what I have read is true, a bigger problem with student loans is the interest gets capitalized. Even though the borrow in many cases quits paying on the loan altogether, the interest continues to accumulate and the lender will capitalize the interest, make the interest part of the principle balance. Thereby having the borrower pay interest on top of interest on top of interest. Difficult to get out from under.

About 2009 Obama took student loans away from banks and let the gov’t make the loans. The gov’t was handing out tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of dollars in unsecured loans like candy to 18-21 years old with no concern for their ability to repay. Obama was too busy adding up all the money being made from the loans to pay for his socialist agenda.

It would not be good for the country if DJT wins the election by capturing a new socialist constituency while losing his base. Consider the change in the structure of motivation that would entail.

Amnesty for DACA will not gain DJT any votes and will lose him some of his base. His remarks on DACA are, I am sure, what brought on this particular speculation.

Stop giving jobs to immigrants and let American kids get the jobs and then have them pay back their own loans themselves.

Like the federal minimum wage, their needs to be a federally mandated college tuition cap.

College grads make way more the $2,400/mo. The unemployment is a joke.
