I love all kinds of music and I know everyones taste of music is different but if forced to pick only one group since 1970 that was awesome, encompassed uniqueness and range and just fun music overall it would be Earth Wind & Fire. I just loved how they mixed R&B, Jazz, Soul, Pop, Latin and Disco and had lyrics to many of their songs that had meaning and message. Maurice White was a genius and his instrumental arrangements for the bands top hits was bar none. Great Car music
Thats the Way of the World
Fantasy
Reasons
Getaway
After the Love is Gone
Serpentine Fire
Shining Star
Cant hide Love
Boogie Wonderland
Gratitude....etc
Agreed but the Beatles have influenced many artists since.
The Eagles
The Moody Blues
ABBA
ELO
Yes and I would like to "unsee" it. Although I love Mike Hammer, Richard Diamond, the Untouchables and the rest, the violent insanity of Baker in that makes me cringe more.
My personal list would be a near photo finish of Cream and then Jimi Hendrix Experience. Saw them live, of course.
But one and one only true top leader (not "a band") is Bob Dylan. IMHO. Seeing him as the acoustic guitar guy with three albums out I was totally mesmerized hearing the first performances of Chimes of Freedom, It Aint Me Babe and others. Later in the very first electric tour saw him in Detroit which drummer Mickey Jones mentioned was part of rock history forming right on stage. Unforgettable years.
The Shaggs - “Philosophy of Life”
Ramones - Their first 4 albums
Rockpile - Any and all
Humble Pie - Steve Marriott is the man.
Mick Taylor era Rolling Stones, “Exile on Main Street
So many more...
Jethro Tull
Little Feat
Duran Duran.
Including the So Red the Rose album Simon and Nick did as Arcadia and I also like John and Andy when part of Power Station. I love their 80’s stuff but also their 90’s and up to now.
I loved the well known 80’s songs like Rio and Hungry like the Wolf but I discovered a lot of songs like Night Boat, Do You Believe in Shame, Lonely in Your Nightmare, New Moon on Monday and many others that I really love and listen to several times a week now.
As Arcadia I love Election Day, Goodbye is Forever, The Flame and The Promise but actually like all of the ones I have found so far.
To be honest I love all types of music and could find at least one song or piece that I would love in any genre.
The Bee Gees.
Great list. I have a few favorite albums and one is Grace Slick’s “Theme from Manhole.” She’s still my favorite female vocalist.
Surrealistic Pillow and Bark are must haves for Grace Slick fans
My other favorites are Poco, Marshall Tucker, Moody Blues. Also Boz Scaggs and Jimmie Spheeris.
The Song “Feeling Stronger Every Day” is thought to be about his breakup with his wife, I believe the truth is getting over is Father’s passing.
Lots going on at the time.

Since a lot of you are going back 60 years, I would offer up The Wrecking Crew, The Swampers, and The Funk Brothers.
I like Chicago, Santana, Elton John, The Eagles, The Highwaymen, Bread, and The Traveling Wilburys.
I absolutely loved Moody Blues and Spiro Gyra.
But going down another road I would pick Doc Severinsen and The Tonight Show band.
