Dimes are worth the most per unit of volume.
Pay the change with your credit card.
I seldom use credit, credit cards are for losers
yes indeed i hand sort mine then go to my credit union for few coin stari found a missing diamond from my wedding band

Any word of a shortage of anything causes a panic buy situation, causing the rest of the shortage. The coin shortage at the banks is a real thing. Go to you bank and try to get more then a couple rolls, they will not give it to you.
Smart Manager I was at the local Dollar General the other day. They have a sign saying they need change and no fee to turn it in. I've got a full jar of coins, probably $300-400. I asked if they had a coin counter. They don't, but would take it if it was rolled. They didn't have any rolls. I would take it to the credit union but the lobby has been closed sine March.
Hey, good idea. If enough people do this, it might cause Them to do some rethinking.
Here in Eastern Nevada, I haven't seen any signs, but Wifey's hair salon won't accept cash "because of the virus". The stylist takes cash, so . . .?
Lol
I stopped at my local Meijer (nicer version of WalMart) and the self-checkouts were accepting ONLY plastic.
But the computer was programmed to NOT give out any currency - i.e. $10 groceries and request $20 for a $30 charge to my pastic.
ONLY accepting payment for goods received.

See what I mean about finding hidden value? It is a government conspiracy I tell ya. Save all of your coins and bury them. In two generations your grandkids will be rich and not make fun of you for being so crazy.
Nevermind, my family will still do that even though they will be rich.
Here in northeast Oklahoma, saw a sign at a cash register, can’t remember which store, that said, “Due to coin shortage, please pay with debit or credit card if possible”. I’m very skeptical of a REAL coin shortage; why would there be one? Sounds more like either banking, government, or Soros type fiends, trying to push a cashless society, which we know is coming.
It’s illegal to refuse cash, isn’t it? If it says legal tender, if it IS legal tender, they MUST accept it.
How old are you, faucetman? Have you never heard of the dangers of evil big government, evil big banking, evil digital spying on innocent citizens, or the mark of the beast? I use a debit card for convenience, but when it gets to the point where I am not given a choice, and cannot buy or sell without some digital device, I’ll know we’re very close to the end. And if I squint, I can see we’re almost there.

Not a bad idea. If we do it your way from now on, it would of course further Big Brother’s goal to eventually track every monetary transaction. But as temporary tactic, it would send a clear message to the Deep State: Take this elitist distaste for cash transactions and shove it.
Nope. Completely legal. They dont have to take it.
But how or why Covid related? It would seem if in-person commerce is down so dramatically, there should be a surfeit of coins floating about.
the young guy on the :good neighbor: radio station has been assaulted 3 times in broad day light. This last one, a construction worker saw the crime, ran and assisted the guy.
Maxie is afraid to walk the one block after work to get his car.
I keep a hammer in my dope box, for just this occasion. You car jack me, I hit you in the head with hammer.
I saw that Notice about A “ National Coin Shortage “at a PetSmart here in L. A. Yesterday. It was on the space where a purse is placed. Told the cashier i’d never heard of it + she handed me my receipt saying nothing.
