Not paper currency, only coins.... covid related....

Need we any more proof that Covid is a man?

*Everything* is his fault.

Yes. A convenience store I frequent just told me today that their bank informed them that they would not be able to provide change for the next three months. She said the manager was giving away coin rolling sleeves to customers and asking them to please bring in their change.

Yes. A few places have signs asking for exact change. Popeyes of those places.

Our city, Minneapolisastan has turned into a real s.h.it hole. The wealthy limousine liberals in their high rise apartments are starting to turn on the city.

I am amazed at “nothing to see here” syndrome is present. The city is in crisis and all they talk about is wearing a mask. Its crazy.

Could it be that for the last few years they are making coins aimed at collectors. They keep changing the designs.

I hate pennies, nickels and dimes.

The quarters are interesting because they are always changing the backs of them. Also, a few quarters feels good in your pocket.

I know a guy who lives in a house only a few blocks from the Saint Floyd Memorial. He has been told to not bother calling the cops. They won’t show up there.

Right, those versed in biblical scripture note a cashless society is a precursor to the end times....not fearing those times, but will resist attempts to bring us there.

I asked the clerk in the local grocery store about this last night. He said he’d heard it was because they were cleaning the coins. He showed me his cash drawer. ALL of the coins, pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters, were bright and shiny, except for what customers had brought in.

Manual coin sorters are inexpensive. Automatic ones are a little more. Spend a few hours and you might be surprised. A gallon of pennies is ~$50!

I want to feel richer than $50.

I have a son who works for food that can sort, but for me, it is more than that. I find rare coins, silver coins, and Chuckie Cheese coins.

I am going to be a millionaire I tell ya!

A gallon of quarters is ~ $1100!
If you have several 5 gallon jugs, that’s worth counting!

Agree.

Almost time to remove a few decimal points like several South American countries in the 80s. So they can do it again.

If they were pre 64 you would have something.

Now you have the makings of an anchor combined with a good bucket , sand and concrete. Assuming they make good aggregate?

In fact, it’s getting so that a lot of businesses here will not accept cash anymore here in LA.

No, these are set up like vending machines. You pour in your coins and it gives you a receipt that you take to the checkout (or teller window at the credit union) to get refund or paper cash. I think they only took out 3% at the grocery store.

Coinstudy.com is a good starting point for coin values. Updated regularly.

The one in my store looks like this. It also gives you the choice of cash, but it's 11% on these ones in my neck of the woods. My credit union does it for free. I have found way more silver in these then I have in all my years metal detecting. :-)

The employee lied.

I was In Walmart on Wednesday and they were accepting cash.

The only complaint I had was they had only two cashiers working. The lines were backed up so much that it looked like Black Friday.

I believe they were wanting customers to lose patience and use self checkout.
